Too much sugar?

I have noticed that I sometimes am going over my sugar target but still having a calorie deficit, the vast majority of my sugar is coming from fruit and occasionally from having a glass of milk or a skinny latte. Should I cut down on fruit? I am eating it with most meals and using it as a snack. I only started a couple of weeks ago and I am enjoying eating the fruit but I'm just not sure if I should aim to start cutting down.

Unless you have a medical reason to track sugar, just ignore it. I track fiber instead.0

As long as you are getting enough of everything else an filling your micro nutrient bases going over on sugar even by quite a lot really isn't a problem. People like to demonize sugar as they demonized fat and are even now trying to demonize protein. so that people can say yeah there's a solution to my habit of over indulging in food with little/no physical activity to burn it off. I can just not eat THIS food that will fix everything. It's a juvenile fantasy. There is no one food that is poisoning you. Eat a balanced healthy diet and burn more than you consume and you will be golden.
just remember most of this low carb low fat low whatever research is actually sponsored by the food industry who also sponsor research in how to make junk food packaging perfectly appealing to the eye. It's all a farcical game to distract us from the fact that we have been tempted into our own gluttonous undoing. Barring an eating disorder. Self control is literally the only thing you need. And even eating disorders can be addressed with support trust me I know.
I eat a whole lot of fruit and that usually puts me waaaay over on sugar. And no fruit sugar is not automatically good for you. Sure fruit is great for you but the sugar is sugar is sugar. And none of that sugar has stopped me from losing weight. Very fast I might add. Faster than MFP would deem safe in fact. But I eat 2.5k calories a day and get most of my deficit from exercise. Which is something else big money doesn't want you doing. Because that involves going out in the fresh air rather than sitting in front of your tv's and computers buying crap. So they finance research constantly to try to tell you that it's still ok to do that. That there will be no health consequences as long as you follow our latest fad diet. Btw by our book on why paleo is awesome.

thanks for both of your responses. That makes sense, I think I am over analysing because it's early days! What you say makes perfect sense0
