Opinions wanted on my activity level

Seeing as I'm now at a healthy BMI and don't have much more to lose, I want to really make sure I have all my settings correct and that I'm doing this properly. I'm still a little unsure on what my activity level should be - I wish this thing had a 'moderately active' option!

I work five days a week in a very physical job - lots of lifting and carrying, pushing heavy trolleys and a TON of walking. I'm always exhausted and my muscles are often sore. But it's only three hours a day. The rest of my day is spent doing regular activities like grocery shopping, housework, gardening, errands, reading, watching TV etc. I usually go for a long walk every day (I don't always log that into MFP as it's something I've done every day for years, even when I was overweight). So would you consider me to be Lightly Active or Active?

I know most people say 'if in doubt, go one below', but I know that eating too little can be detrimental when you're at a healthy BMI and only want to lose those 'last 10 pounds'. I'm currently set at Lightly Active with a goal to lose 1lb per week. My weight loss has definitely stalled over the last month, although I do seem to be losing inches. Any advice would be much appreciated!

  • Sounds like Active to me.
  • I consider you to be active, if you walk every day that is a form of exercise!!!! You have to remember that people that log onto here are usually couch potato's...LOL Sorry but it's the truth, they are discovering the joys of exercise for the first time in their lives and walking is usually the first baby step for them..

So I say active!!!!! You gotta make sure you feed your body the right amount of calories considering your job is physically demanding... If you've been doing this job for a long time you shouldn't always be sore and exhausted if you are eating right.. So that may be a sign of not enough vitamins or enough nutrients..

But remember we are not doctors, so if you have a health plan I would consider speaking to the nutrisionist (can't spell it) sorry, I'm sure you will get the best advised from them...

    Good luck

Wow, good point. I never thought of it like that. That's possibly why I'm always tired and hungry lol. Duh! :blushing:

Funny how it all makes so much sense when you just put it out there! Thanks so much for the advice!
