Getting an Endoscopy

I'm getting an endoscopy on Friday and I'm so nervous. Has anyone here ever got one before, what was it like? What was the worst part? I'm mostly nervous about gagging on the tube.

    I've had endoscopic surgery twice, but never down the hatch.I wouldn't worry too much , they are pretty standard these days so i'm sure they've worked out all the gagging issues. I mean it doesn't sound comfortable, but you'll be fine.

    Why are you getting one?

    They will give you medication both to a) relax you and b) so you don't remember anything. I have been both a patient and helping with them, so I can tell you from both sides of the table, per se. Take a deep breath - You will be fine! :smile:
