Hello I am a single mother of 3, and I would like to lose 40lbs. I always start a diet/exercise plan however; its always hard to stay on it. Yes I want to be happy, healthy and feel comfortable again in my own skin. Yes my children are my everything and I want to be healthy not only for my self but for them. However; staying on a "healthy diet" and staying motivated to work out is always hard for me to keep going. I work full time then come home cook dinner, home work time with the kids, bathe them, then bed time. That's my weekly routine. I know it sounds like excuses Maybe it is? I just wanted to know if you all have any tips on how you all stay motivated and push to work out on the days u just feel tired and lazy..

obviously you're busy working and having a family, but this may be a bit of food for thought...

"Instead of saying 'I don't have time' try saying 'it's not a priority' and see how that feels. Often, that's a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just don't want to. But other things are harder. Try it: "I'm not going to edit your resume sweetie, because it's not a priority" "I don't go to the doctor because my health is not a priority." If these phrases don't sit well, then that's the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don't like how we're spending an hour, we can choose differently"

    Stop making such drastic changes.

The only thing you need to do to lose weight is be in a calorie deficit. 80% of your diet should be healthy foods and 20% can be treats, things that you don't want to eat all the time.

To be healthy - you need to exercise regularly (doing something you enjoy) and start meeting your macros (protein, fats, carbs).

Read these links. When you are really ready to lose the weight and get healthy - you will find the time and energy.

First thing first stop treating this as a diet and exercise plan... It can be nothing short of a total lifestyle adjustment, and needs to be something that is easy to adhere to long term.... Learn to eat in moderation while still allowing yourself the foods you enjoy, and No matter how busy you are,, you can always fit in 20-30 minutes a day to better yourself. You can't be there for your family if your not going to take care of yourself first... I am fairly busy daily but know my *kitten* could easily hit the couch for atleast a couple hours a day/evening watching tv and surfing the internet... but I choose to spend that time on me and hit the gym or swim or cycle or hike... You just have to choose what is important to you and then get busy doing it.... Best of Luck
