28 years old and can't lose weight

Hello I'm 28 years old and I can't seem to lose weigh. I'm in the army so weigh is important and 260 lbs at 6' 3 1/2" tall is pushing the limits of the army's tape test. I have been dieting for 3 months and haven't lost a pound.

figure out your tdee, eat less than it, count your calories0

Can't see your log, but I'm guessing the problem is that you're just not creating as big of a deficit as you think you are. I recommend measuring accurately your food intake, and only eat back some of the calories you burn from exercise.0

You're not trying enough.
I started at 6' 3" 260 lbs. It takes a lot of hard work. Watch what you eat, do lots of cardio. You're looking to drop as much as possible in 3 months, so I'd really watch what I eat. Avoid alcohol and sweets.0 -

I do have food scale. I don't eat at the dfac. I for got to say on my last post I am on blood thine do to a clot in my leg. Could this be hindering my progress? And diary is now public. Some days I'm bad at finishing it0

Finish your diary. Eat at least 2,000 calories a day.
Go talk to your sergeant and get on Remedial PT.0 -

Everyone can lose weight.
Anyone here who tells you otherwise is looking for ways to make themselves feel more comfortable in a situation from which they have convinced themselves they will never escape.
For the most part, there is already some great simple advice on this thread. Add a doctor's visit, just in case.0 -

Have you looked into intermittent fasting with reduced carbs? I couldn't lose anything for years faithfully following a low-fat, 5 small meals a day plan. I started IF with the 5:2 plan, now do 16:8 (16 hours a day fast, 8 hour eating window) and have finally started having success. Sometimes it isn't a simple matter of eat less, move more; sometimes, you have to change up the pattern and let your body rest. There are lots of resources for this out there - I'd start with Brad Pilon's "Eat Stop Eat" and go from there. He's on YouTube too. Good luck.0

Or you could start with the basics like weighing food to see if that truly matches the intake he thinks he's getting. Most of the time it's grossly underestimated.0 -

I'm not sure if you configured the app properly because 4,865cal is a lot to be allowed to eat. You should recheck what you input into the app in terms of your weight, height, and goal. Maybe you accidentally hit a wrong number0

First, I think you need to clean up your logging. Some of your entries have no calories listed for the item, and things like the Subway entry could be off, unless you went to their site, calculated your exact sandwich, and created the entry yourself. This post is very helpful:

Secondly, MFP tends to overinflate calorie burn for exercise. You might have better luck switching to the TDEE method.
Other than that, have you requested a medical evaluation? ABCP (AR 600-9) allows you to request a medical evaluation, which could get you nutrition counseling, regular appts to check body fat. I'm not sure what the deal is with your blood thinners, but you could also request an exemption if the medication is known to impact weight.0 -

Start with accurate logging. Your diary is full of blank days, incomplete days, and incorrect database entries. Don't choose anything like "homemade french toast" or "dry toast." Calorie counts for those items will vary greatly depending on brands/amounts used. Instead enter each ingredient separately and weigh all your food.0

My app says 2610 cals a day. The 4800 is from my excise this morning it will add those cals to the daily amount. Like today I had a deficit of almost 900 cals.

Be honest with yourself, if you have really indeed been doing everything that you can do to lose weight and nothing is budging after 3 months then you should go to medical.0
