I'd like to lose 10 lbs by my marathon, one month from now

Hello everyone,
So, as I stated in the title, I would like to lose 10 lbs by the marathon I will be running on October 7th, as long as I can do it in a healthy way that will help my performance rather than hurt it.
A little bit about myself and my exercise/eating habits.
I currently weigh approx. 175 lbs.
I consider myself to be a very active person. I am starting on my 10th year of running consistently for about an hour every day. Currently I run about 60 miles every week. 3 of those days are runs at a constant, relaxed pace, for an hour. Twice a week I do track workouts, that generally come out to about 7 to 10+ miles. I also run one very long run once a week. This week is my longest of my current training program, 22 miles. Generally recommended that you do one nearly-marathon distance run about a month before the race, and start to taper from there. The last day is taken completely off from any kind of exercise.
I also lift weights once a week (generally 2 sets of about 12 - 15 reps on every basic upper and lower body weight machine with 30 seconds to a minute of rest between the 2 sets), do push-ups once a week (3 sets of 25, 2 min. rest between), and do back exercises 3 times a week (pretty basic, just do a pull-up like motion, 3 sets of 25). I also do taiko drumming once a week for 2 hours once a week. Primarily works back muscles. I also do abdominal exercises for about 8 -9 minutes 5 times a week
Eating habits:
During the week, I generally have a small bowl of cereal and a couple slices of bread with peanut butter. Weekends, pretty much the same, maybe minus the cereal. Lunch during the week is usually an apple, banana, orange, some arrangement of mixed nuts, and often a bowl of rice, usually one cup. Dinner is usually a cup of rice, some chicken, and assorted vegetables. Lunch and dinner vary somewhat on the weekends, but usually a similar arrangement of food and portions. I maybe have a beer or two through out the week, and will drunk 5 beers or more on the weekend probably once a month. Generally no dessert.
Sleep:
Sunday night to Thursday night, I probably get around 7.5 hours of sleep. Friday and Saturday, maybe 6 with naps during the day.
Currently an expat in Asia, which is why I eat all the rice.
I know there is a lot that can be improved upon, and I thank you in advance for any and all feedback that you have for me!

Personally, I think you should focus more on your marathon training, eating well and staying healthy than worrying about losing weight at the same time.
Marathon training is tough enough. You don't want to end up on race day in a weakened condition because of inadequate nutrition.
If you really concentrate on eating well and eating enough, I am betting the weight will come off as a result.
But please, fuel your body correctly or you will run out of gas.0 -
Are you male or female?
How tall are you?
Whats your BMR?
Whats your TDEE?0 -
you can do it easily by dropping the carbs like cereal and rice and bread. or go all raw for the month. this is always good for 10 lbs down. usually in the first two weeks.0

At this point in training the last thing you want to be doing is cutting calorie intake, especially enough to lose 10lbs in a month.
I wouldn't recommend it.0 -
Agree with all previous comments. Fuel your body properly for your race and worry about weight loss later. A marathon is seriously demanding on your body and you probably shouldn't be eating at a deficit - certainly not one so big that would allow you to lose 10lbs in just 4 weeks.0

Seriously?! You're recommending someone who is training for a marathon to eat all raw foods or drop carbs?!0 -
I wish this were possible because I'd LOVE to drop 10 lbs for my marathon in a month. But it's not gonna happen. I managed to take off 5-6 in the past 3 months, and it was rough. Focus on fueling your body well for now and lose the weight after the marathon.0

It won't do you any good this time around, but I highly suggest you read "Racing Weight". It's a great look at how to get to the optimal weight to run your best.
Like everyone else has said, you've kinda passed the point of no return now. You need to be recovering from your training and getting ready to run. Weight loss, if it was going to happen, should have happened months ago.
Edit: Typo.0 -
Everyone I know who has trained for a marathon has gained weight, not lost it. Trying to drop a lot of weight before a race is going to adversely affect your performance, possibly to the point where you can't finish the race.
Worry about the ten pounds when you're done.0 -
With eating habits like that & running 60 mpw, I'm shocked you still have 10lbs to lose. But at this point like the others have said...attempting to lose 10lbs 4 weeks out from a marathon is a really bad idea.0

You will be much better off maintaining your weight at this point. Losing 10 lbs in a month is a bad idea period, let alone while trying to train for a marathon. You need calories to recover and properly fuel those runs.you can do it easily by dropping the carbs like cereal and rice and bread. or go all raw for the month. this is always good for 10 lbs down. usually in the first two weeks.0

This.
I'm one of the people that gained weight while training for a marathon.0 -

That's ridiculous. In the days before a marathon you should be eating carbs like crazy. Don't worry about your 10lb - after the marathon will be the time to focus on weight loss. Your priority now is to eat well, carbo load and get to that start line healthy.0 -

Strong first post, ignore everything they said.0 -
Thanks for all the advice, guys!0
