Pear shaped ladies- squats?

I hear so much good stuff about squats, but I'm concerned it might make some bad areas look worse? I know you can't spot reduce and I've accepted that, but I hate being pear shaped and would hate to make it worse. Sorry if this is one of those stupid questions- I'm a bit ignorant about training, really. Thanks in advance.

Squats will never make any area worse, only better. It will strengthen your legs, bum and core, and with doing heavy weights, you may lose body fat...what could be bad about that?0

i am pear shaped, all you can do is lose bodyfat!0 -
I'm naturally pear shaped. after losing weight I was a rectangle shape. After squatting and bulking upper body (since I can't bulk my boobs) I appear hourglass, or a slight inverted triangle.
Squatting will lift the booty, define the legs, and make the pear shape much more appealing.0 -
squats are the answer to almost all questions in life.0

Embrace the pear shaped body that some men love.
How can squats make areas worse. I guess you mean by if eating in calories surplus and legs get even thicker.
Squats with calorie deficit and be amazed at how your lower body starts to look.0 -
I was sooo pear shaped it's almost a joke. I actually loved it but that's not the point.
I was afraid of squats and lunges too. I didn't want to get any heavier on the thighs in relation to my upper waist.
Squats and lunges actually changed my all figure. I'm soo close to being an hourglass now!
Fat is disappearing.
Pictures in my profile, have a look and do your squats!0 -
Wahey, thanks for all the positive replies! Squats will be incorporated into my life.0
