Any Foreign Exchangers out there? Or anybody else, for that

Hi all! I know some might think I'm a little young (still in highschool) to be calorie counting and all that, but here's the thing: I'm on foreign exchange for a year, and if anyone else has ever gone, they know that one of the things all the organizations warn you about is that you might gain a lot of weight! They tell you to enjoy all the foods, and not worry if you put on about 4 sizes. I want to enjoy the foods ( I love food! I love to cook!) buuuut... I like to run competitively, and I'd prefer to maintain rather than go through even more of a struggle to get into shape when I return... so... I've actually been using MFP for a while now, but fell off during the holidays :( so, I'm restarting now, and would love to make some friends who I can support and who might be able to give me some tips!

I'm not, nor have I ever been, a foreign exchange student, but I would be more than happy to be your friend and help support you through your time abroad!! Friend request on the way

I was a foreing exchange student 15 years ago! And I did gain 22lbs in only 4 months. Since then I have been strugling with my weight and was never able to get back to the original one..was just able to loose 10 of the 22 after I moved back home so I was stucked with 12. Of course the body changes and I don't pretend now to weight 115lbs because I will look sick. Just 3 more pounds for me to go... it took me 15 years to finally go back to a size 6! hahaha

So I say to you, enjoy the food, the culture, anything you want, but don't go overboard! And don go back home with lots of extra pounds!

    Good luck!
