Good day all

My father was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon cancer, and he's currently trying to stick to a very strict diet of fruit + veg juicing (which the nutritionist recommended) and has been told to try stay away from High Acidic Profile foods..

He has been doing well, but has complained that he's had really NO energy throughout the day (which we presume is from low carb intake) So my question is pretty simple.. What meals (preferably high alkaline and low Acidic) could you recommend for him? Sweet potatoes, brown rice, basmati rice and such are open for use.. we are just not sure how/what to put it all together to actually get tasty meals out of this..

Keeping in mind he's not allowed red meats and is told to try avoid chicken, too..

Thanks so much in advance, I look forward to reading about some good recipes and meal preps :)

Reagrds

    hi

first of all is he on d3? I"m recommend at least 5,000 IU's per day with cancer. ALSO YOU SHOULD BE TAKING IT TOO IN CASE IT'S HEREDITARY He is probably low on iron because we find this the most in red meat. Figs is a good option to provide iron and black strap molassaes, beans. I'd also reccomend getting Maitake mushroom extract, that fights cancer naturally. He is doing the macrobiotic diet?

I would eat fish at least 2-3x per week, no shellfish. Monk, trout, cod, red snapper, salmon, rainbow trout and snail is the exception are all good choices. Sole and flounder should be avoided they contain a lectin that's irritative to the digestive tract.

NO sugar or gluten all are inflammatory to the digestive tract.

    I hope he gets better!!

Is he seeing a "nutritionist" or a registered dietician? If it's the former, I recommend getting a referral to the latter. I work in healthcare, and I've never heard of anyone being put on such a diet.

What are "high acidic profile foods?" Almost everything we eat is acidic, and fruits are very acidic. Very few foods are alkaline.
