logging in food....

When I log I tend to just focus on the Calories and not really care so much about the other numbers with sodium and sugar etc. I am able to still lose if I just modify calories. I was wondering if I am alone in this or are many of you careful with all numbers.

I would say I'm fairly careful with the other numbers. For me, the most important one is protein, since I find if I eat a good amount of it throughout the day, I'm more satisfied and have better energy.

The calorie count is the most important for me as well though!

I try for protein, but my range is so wide - like 60 and above is okay. And even if I'm less, no biggie I don't really take much corrective action. The vitamins can be nice to see sometimes when they're nice and high

You are definitely not alone. I'm doing the same thing. When I first started, I was even losing weight because I was eating less calories, but what I was eating had no real health benefits. My goal is to lose weight so that I can get off high blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds and etc. My salt intake is always too high. I know what I need to be eating, but for some reason I won't. My sugar is also too high.

You should continue to work towards your nutritional goals, but please be encouraged because weighing less in and of itself has health benefits.

I do my best to first meet my protein, dietary fat, and fiber. If I am low on carbs, I have ice-cream or potato chips.
