Hi, I'm new to the site. I do bridges as part of my booty workout but can't find them in the database. Can anyone provide help on how to enter these?

I also do wall sits, but can't find those. I think there is some trick I am missing here.

it's like planks- it burns very little- unless you are doing weighted bridge lifts with significant weight- I wouldn't' log it.

if it was a weighted bridge with 500 pounds in her lap i still wouldn't log it.

Sometimes they are weighted, sometimes not. But, I'm not logging it to know how many calories I burned. I'm just trying to keep a record of the exercises I do.

And sure I could call it yoga. I could call it running or basketball, I suppose.

I guess I'll just put it in the notes section for now, and stay on the lookout for a better exercise logging site.

Thank you. Another user was kind enough to PM me the instructions. I appreciate the help.

well- to be fair- this is a calorie counting site.

I use a notebook to track my workouts. Much easier- and it's always there- and I can put whatever I want.

Not sure what you mean by "to be fair". Is my desire to log exercise w/o caring how many calories were burned somehow unfair?

I hope that user was also kind enough to tell you that you'd be wasting your time. This site has no way to easily go back and see what you did and when, if you're progressing, analyzing data, or....anything really, that you'd want for logging individual exercises. Great for calories tho. Use jefit or something similar for that.

Don't get your knickers in a bunch. She's just acknowledging that the site is good for what it's made for but bad at what you want to use it for. She's letting you know that while giving you a better option. That's much more helpful than giving you instructions on a seriously flawed method, imo

I'm sorry but I don't understand how telling me not to log my exercise or what you/she/he would do is more helpful than simply answering my question? But, it's a moot point since someone was already kind enough to answer my question

They weren't telling you not to log your exercise, they were telling you that they write it in a notebook, which is a much easier way to keep track of your exercise than on this site. This site is brilliant for calories and tracking them, but not so good for exercises. Like the other poster I don't log any of my exercises in MFP (I do have Mapmyrun linked in so that it automatically feeds through, although again, not much use, as it only shows how long the run/walk was for, not the distance which is what I'm interested in, so I use Mapmyrun to review that, not MyFitnessPal.

You are correct, they weren't telling me not to log it. My mistake. They were just telling me that they would not log it. And later, one told me she logs in a notebook. Then you and another guy told me that they don't like MFP for logging exercise.

All great for sharing personal preferences, but still not helpful to me (I have tried a notebook before and found I did not find carrying a notebook around with me convenient so I started making little notes to myself to log later, which I forgot to do or they got lost), and none of which answered my question.

Truthfully, I'm not sure why we are still having this conversation. I now feel like I'm defending my question or my right ask a question or to log exercise on MFP. So, I should probably just stop

I run a small business and at times I go to successful business people and ask them for advice on how to do things. If I ask them how to do X, and several successful people tell me that X doesn't work and that i would reap greater benefits from trying Y and Z, I don't get upset because they never told me exactly how to do X. That's because they've given me something much more valuable. I don't let my ego or my feelings get in the way of learning the best way to accomplish a thing and thanking them for saving me time and frustration.

But hey, that's me. Do your thing. Best of luck to you in all of your health and fitness goals.

Thank you, good luck to you as well.

But, to be fair () only one person offered me an alternative, and only after I thanked another person for answering my question.

If I over-reacted, I apologize. I'm new and I guess I expected something different. But after perusing the boards for a while I see these type of responses are fairly normal.
