2 Yr Running Anniversary - Lost Mojo

Hi guys! I hit my 2 year running anniversary today. I've had many ups and downs since then. I ran my first half marathon in December, and then my fastest 5k in June. I was really into running all the time, and then something just snapped and I started hating it. I took a few months off, with a casual run here and there. I lost my fitness level, and I'm back to running intervals now and not very fast and I feel pretty down about it. But I'm determined to get my fitness level back up there again! I am looking for new running friends, especially anyone who is or has dealt with the same issues in the past.

    I was never a runner. I could do it, that wasn't the issue, I was just more content in the gym. But a good friend of mine runs a 7 mile road race in August every year and asked if I would accompany her in training and I started to like it but like you said, lost interest. The remedy for me was to sign up for a fun race. We are doing a "Big Bad Wolf" race where they give out prizes for the best costume and fastest times and largest team. They also host a bbq after. Once I signed up I was back on track and enjoying my run because I know I'm working towards something fun! Ditch the stress of "gotta make 5, 6, 7 miles" and get back to just going!! :smile:
