I am getting close to my goal of 195 lbs. I am 6-3. At 200 lbs my BMI still stays I am over weight. I know that BMI has its limitations. I am still carrying a belly, love handles and some side-moob action. I am down to 36 pants size, but they can be a little tight depending on the maker.
I am thinking I may need to revise my goal down to at least 185 to get rid of the belly and love handles Any other tall guys or girls with tall signif other? What are their dimensions? Weight, waist?

I don't worry too much about those BMI charts, but using the calculator below (which uses 5 different formulas to calculate ideal weight), the average for a guy your age and height comes out to 179.5. But that is the average, so I'd think 185 would be perfectly fine.

My husband is 6'2" and was a very fit 185 in high school. He says he wore 34" jeans then. I cannot imagine him that low now. He looked good then but there's a difference between being 18 and nearly 40. His goal is 210. I would say that you likely would benefit more from lifting weights than losing more weight right now. Are you doing any strength training currently?0

Yes, I am self-taught so I am not sure if I am doing everything right to get the most benefit. I look up various weight lifting exercises on the internet. I have seen some improvement but again maybe it could be better, especially my chest.
I am 200 which IMO puts me in great shape compared to some of my peers who carry extra weight mostly in their belly. I would like to get down maybe another 10 lbs and then start some more focused weight training to really develop my chest. I am considering using a personal trainer once I hit my goal to focus on strength training.0 -
I switched over from bodyweight training to weight training earlier this summer. The rec center I belong to has a quick start program that I signed up for--a fitness evaluation plus three sessions with a personal trainer. I did it specifically so that I could learn proper form and have a better idea of what to do for my goals (building strength and still losing fat.) I'm really glad I did it as just feeling like I know what I'm doing has gone a long way to help me.0

I would encourage you to find out your body fat %, be it by a bio-impedance scale, bod pod, calipers, etc.
I'm 6'2.5" but by tracking my body fat %, I know that I've a lean weight (everything but fat) of about 195lbs. Knowing that a healthy male my age should be in the 8-20% range, I've set a goal of 13% body fat. That would put my goal weight at about 224lbs (195lbs of lean weight + 29lbs of fat).0 -

Thanks - I have kinda been intimidated by trying to measure my body fat %. Seems like too many variables I could screw up when I measure. I will look up the items you mentioned above. Maybe it is easier then I think.0 -

I'm 6'4". I started a couple of years ago at 211, and am almost back down to my goal weight of 180. While I haven't measured lately, my size 36 pants are all just a tad on the loose side, so I'm guessing my waist is about 35". All my fat tends to be in the belly, both under the muscles and around the waist (for the "spare tire" look). I've still got just enough of that to be noticeable without a shirt on, although I was asked today if I was going for the anorexic look by a coworker.
So you might want to consider dropping down to something like 185 and reevaluating. Also, what c_ansari mentioned about BF% of spot on. I'm somewhere around 16-18% BF. For males, 18-25% is the acceptable range. You can get a tape measure and measure your waist and neck for a decent BF% measurement. That may be a better way to measure progress than just weight.
BTW, the first few times I saw your username, I read it as 'Wookie in a pub.' Took me a while to get the reference!0
