How long is your commute to work?

It used to be 7 minutes until I moved last year, now it's a half hour.0

My commute is 1 hour and 6 minutes one way with no traffic. My husband drives about the same. Only he drives through a tunnel with a toll. We've both made this drive for over 10 years. We love where we live, love where we work!! No plans to move!!0

15 min walk or 2 min drive0

30 min drive. It used to be 45 mins0

about 30 minute drive each way but at the end of October I'll be working from home0
-
Car. No other means really. 10 mins0

15 minute on quiet urban streets. Used to be 30-45 minutes on busy highways.
Also, 1 hour bicycle ride.
Any more than 30 minutes driving is too far IMO. You're wasting two hours of your day, sitting on your *kitten*, spending money and doing nothing.
Imagine what you could do in thse two hours of every day.0 -
9 minute walk or 2 minute drive. I'm going to miss it when I move!0
-
10 min drive0

6 minutes if I hit the 2 red lights on the way. :drinker:0
-
8 minute bike ride0

5.4 km, or 10 minutes by car through the town at "rush hour".0

About an hour to an hour and a half or more depending on traffic. Coming home is about 45 min to an hour.0

I leave the house just before 7 am and get to work at 8:10 am.... that is after dropping 2 little ones at the sitter's house, then the 5 year old at school, then driving to work...0

I worked from home for 9 years, now I have a 22.5 mile commute, takes about 25 minutes, one traffic light. I love the drive, but hate the "wasted" hour every day.0

Really lucky. 5 minute walk to my gym where I teach.0

However long it takes me to get down my stairs0

1:15 on the way to work. 1:30 on the way home. 38 miles each way.
With almost 3 hours per day in the car, I get most of my weekday runs in during my lunch hour.0 -
I'm 20 miles from my office and I work on an island. When I first started working there, my commute was 30 minutes, with traffic. Fast forward six years and it takes over an hour to get to and from work. If there is an accident on any of the bridges, it will take much longer. I love where I live, I love my job, I absolutely detest my commute!! I've considered moving, but I'm priced out of the neighborhoods near my office, and the ones I can afford, have terrible schools.0

Currently a 5-day teleworker, so just a walk to my home office downstairs. On the rare occasion I need to go onsite (like yesterday), it's about 20-25 min from my driveway to the parking deck entrance. But between finding a spot, walking across the street, going through man-traps and security checks, etc., I have to tack on another 15 min.
I've been lucky that the longest regular commute I've every had in my working life was 45 min each way. But then again, that was a weekend job as a teenager and I took surface streets to avoid tolls. 1+hour commutes are a foreign concept to me but I know a LOT of people who do them. I know one guy who regularly does 2+ hours each way! Heaven help him.0 -
Maybe 5 seconds if my dog is in my way. Work from a home office.0

Oh, Houston how I love/loathe thee.
No HOV, leaving after 6am - 45-1hr.
With HOV, leaving after 6:30 - same as above.
With/without HOV leaving between 5:30-5:45 - 30-45 minutes.
Add 10-15 for rain.
Subtract 5-7 for summer vacation months.
Add 10 for M-Th School in/College days.0 -
Used to be two hours. Now, it shouldn't have taken two hours at only forty miles, but this was Los Angeles traffic. It really is that bad. I was coming from long beach (Belmont shore, across from the beach) going to Beverly hills.
Now I go to Irvine and its a 20 mile commute, 25 mins.0 -
However long it takes me to pour a cup of coffee and sit at my desk... working from home has it's advantages0
-
Used to be 45mins @ 75mph, one way. As of Tuesday, it became 3 min by car, <5 walking, 0.25miles away. (Basically, I live at the top of a hill, and my office is at the bottom.)
WIN!!!!!0 -
5min walk to take the kids to school then 10/15min bike ride to work (3miles). I hate been stuck in traffic, would be 1/2 hour or mor by car..0
-
30 minutes. that is too long!!! i waste an entire hour of my day in the car (longer if there's traffic)0
-
30 minutes, 6.5 miles one way. By bicycle. I get in an hour of exercise every day, just going to and from work... and it only takes 20 minutes longer every day than if I drove. Plus I save $5 every day I don't pay for parking. Win win win!0
-
35 miles but my husband and I work at the same place, then he runs our 7 year old into town 5 miles for daycare/school drop off once he drops me off.0
