I have found I love yogurt but...

I never liked yogurt but decided to give it another try and to my surprise I love it now. My only issue is I am getting g a horrible aftertaste that does not go away until I brush my teeth. I have tried dannon and yoplait. Any ideas on how to get rid of the aftertaste?

The low fat yogurts are appalling. Buy the full fat kind -- just eat smaller amounts. Also try full fat Greek yogurt.
It might be the case that yogurt is not one of your things. That is fine. There are other foods that can help you reach your goals.

I actually love it while I am eating it. 15 minutes later, not so much... I am hoping I will just get used to it after a while.

It could be the artificial sweeteners that are used in it that's giving you the after taste.

Try Greek yogurt. The non fat plain version is good. Or make it yourself and add your own fruit.

You must be eating the kind with artificial sweeteners.

I get that yucky aftertaste from Danone which used splenda. I moved over to Danone Greek yogurt with honey on the bottom. and no yucky taste. I agree with others suggesting try to eat one without artificial sweetners.

I'm with the others. I eat Fage Greek yogurt, the 2% kind. I sweeten it with fruit and alot of times I throw a little protein powder in there and have never had a problem with aftertaste.

I too would suggest it is the artificial sweeteners giving you that aftertaste. I like Fage 0% or 2% sweetened with a bit of honey and fresh or defrosted frozen fruit. It is cheaper if you buy the large containers, rather than the individual servings (as with any packaged food). If convenience if a factor, you could buy a bunch of small or medium sized mason jars and portion out yogurt the way you want to eat it for the week.

The problem I have with unflavored yogurt is that it still has that "sour" taste no matter what I mix with it.

I like plain nonfat Greek-- with 5-10g of honey added in per serving it no longer tastes sour to me.

90% of the yogurt in the dairy case (including non-fat, low-cal, low-sugar, etc) is about as good for you as Coke or Diet Coke. Read the ingredients and look at the calories.

I know. I'll have to try honey in it.
