I am new and I want - no - I need to lose 215 pounds - I am again on the track to lose weight - I have in the last 6 years lost and gained the same 100 pounds over and over and over - I am so tired of this - saw my Dr. today and she told me about this website - and tool to help me - I don't want to do surgery or lapband - but she is suggesting it as a tool for me to continue on my success because I can not get past that 100 pound mark - so for the next 3 months I am tracking everything so the insurance will say yes to the help I need.
I need help and suggestions on incorporating exercise into my life - I know how to eat to shed the pounds - I don't know how to exercise - when you are as heavy as I am going to the gym or workout shop is one of the things I just can't seem to make myself do - because I only see people who are fit in there - I don't want them looking at me when I can't do what they can - and I don't even know where to begin when I go there - any suggestions? Help!!!
Good luck on your journey and thank you for the chance to work this out together!

Hi. Do you have a wii? Have you tried the wii fits and other exercises? Or streaming netflix through it or an xbox 360 and doing the workouts that the netflix streams to you? That's what I do. I'm still trying to get on a schedule to get the exercise in though. It's hard with a 1 year old running around and trying to work from home haha. One step at a time I suppose. Good Luck0

Welcome Stacey. I've found that youtube has a some great videos on there. I also love to dance, so when I just don't feel like doing a traditional workout, I put on my earphones & mp3 player and move dance around the house. My biggest problem is that I only track my food when I doing good. I tend to hide away when I eat wrong stuff, but today I've resolved that I'm going to show the good, the bad & the ugly so I can be really honest with myself.0

Stacey,
Welcome! You will loose weight if you follow the guidance on this website. I suggest you dive in and use the tools tab and the tools there to get your guidance re calories per day for you etc etc. Then log everything re the food tab.
Walking is a good easy exercise. Going up and down stairs and increasing the number each day slightly. Dancing to music .... it all counts if it is more than you were doing.
It will become addictive, its a wonderful community of supportive people.
You will feel differently in just a few weeks I am sure. Good luck!0 -
Hi Stacey!
Welcome! I'm new here too...just started last week and so far I really like it. Something about logging in what I eat, makes me want to eat less. Anyway...I know what you mean about going to the gym. I'm very self conscious (sp?) also. How about just walking? Around the block? At a nearby park? Or on a treadmill if you have one? When I was walking during my 15mins breaks at work, I noticed it helped a lot. I stopped (got lazy!) but will start up again.
You can do this! Like I said on my page...baby steps!
You can add me if you like.
