What type of elliptical to buy?

I'm looking at a proform that has a calorie program that changes the max rpm, intensity and resistance throughout a 30-45 minute workout. When people talk about changing intensity, is that what they're meaning?

I don't know what to buy? One that doesn't have automatic programs and you have to manually change that or one that does it for you?

Why not run outside for free?

Because I can't run outside in the winter with snow on the ground.

I would recommend going to a store and trying out several different brands and models. We bought an elliptical years ago and it took a while find on that felt comfortable for me. Some of the pedals felt too "loopy", some of the pedals were too widely spaced, etc. Sort of like a Goldilocks syndrome. Find one that feels the most comfortable for you!:flowerforyou:

I would recommend getting gym quality one off craigslist. Like Lifefitness, precor,or Octane fitness. Normally these run 3k to 5k brand new and can get one for 1k or under off craigslist.

I got a Lifefitness one, but it was expensive. Very good quality though.

Whichever one you buy, I would recommend getting a good one. I wasted money on a cheap one many years ago and then never used it because it creaked and didn't feel sturdy or at all like the ones I had used at the gym. I finally spent a few grand on a good one last year and now I use it almost everyday. The features are far less relevant to me than the feel of the machine.

So pro form isn't a good brand?
