Too much protein?

Can you have to much protein? I went 21 grams over my suggested amount today and wondered if that was bad?

    Protein on MFP is set low like 15% of your calories allowed. Having double the protein that the site tells you isnt a bad thing. 20-30% of your calories is a healthy amount of protein.

    it's not bad if it's lean protein and you're working out & not just intaking fat :o) it takes more effort for your body to digest protein, so being a little over what MFP suggests as long as you're still in the caloric range may be a good thing.

    I recently read that as you get older you need more protein when you work out because we lose muscle and the protein helps maintain and build muscle. Nice article on Women Health mag online..may help answer your question!
