Share your fitness and health binders/logs!

I know many people use the internet and technology to keep track of things when working towards fitness goals, and while I've come to appreciate technology for this purpose, I still take appreciation in tangible things.

So I therefore keep track of all things relating to my current fitness journey in a binder. I keep logs of my daily workouts, rest days, sleep habits, water intake, goals, accomplishments, measurements, and all sorts of things. It's been crazy motivating for me, and very fun to put together. I am already at the point where I think I need to buy a few more binders and break it up a bit because it's bursting at the (already broken) metal seams.

Who else here keeps a binder/book of sorts filled with fitness info/motivation/inspiration?

If you do, please post photos! (page by page if you want, even!) =]

I like the binder idea, I may start one. Lately I've been keeping track of stuff in a composition notebook, trying to put all those lab notebook skills to use. I keep track of my progress with strength training, new workouts I'd like to try, and notes on various new health foods. What kind of stuff do you keep in your binder?
  • Currently I have it filled to the brim with a ton of stuff, divided into sections. I'm about to take photos of it so I can post those!

I also keep a pencil pouch inside it with my workout headphones, pens, highlighters, other writing supplies, chapstick, a measuring tape, and a glasses cleaning cloth.

Great idea! I keep track of mine in an excel spreadsheet and on MFP but can definitely appreciate the desire to hold it in my hands and doodle on it, etc. :P Did you take a look on pinterest for some ideas?

I love your binder! I keep meaning to set one up but don't know where to start.

What sections do you have your binder?

Thanks in advance. I hope to start working on setting mine up when I get back from camping on Monday.
  • tkillion810: I am a very hands on person, so doodling is right up my ally. I scrapbook, play various instruments, prefer hand writing to typing, knit, and prefer tangible things like that to keep my fidgeting to a minimum. Which makes it near impossible for me to log my food/exercise daily online. I've tried, but it never works. xD I have been wanting to try taking the hand written pages and typing them up in some sort of chart though, so I would love to see an example of how you use exell to organize!

I'm definitely a pinterest addict so I have many a board for fitness/health inspiration. =]

Taraand: Thank you! Getting started was hard at first for me. I have it organized into these sections: inspirational quote photos and calendar pages, workout related inspirational quotes, workout logs, measurement and weight logs, fitness and health goals/aspirations, nutrition information, exercise and anatomy information, my medical information, general inspiration, awesome plus size babes who inspire me, fitness girl crushes, spare paper and sheet protectors.

    I love your binder!

I created one last month for myself and currently have five sections.

First section is my monthly goals- starting/ending stats, goals for the month, what I accomplished and then goals for the next month.
Second section is posts from MFP (typically the long ones) that I wanted to refer back without having to go online.
Third section is different exercise routines that I want to incorporate.
Fourth section is walking/running/biking routes in my neighborhood. I haven't really done much running yet and just normally walk and bike for now. But having the routes mapped out let's me know the length instead of just guessing.
Fifth section is recipes that I want to try - some I already have.

I like the idea of using a pencil pouch for storing items such as a tape measure. I will probably add that as well.

Thank you both EmilyPersepho & kikontx.

You both gave me great starting points for my binder. Now off to buy some supplies...
