Looking for some advice

Hi there,

I am writing to you all feeling extremely sad and hopeless. I have always struggled to maintain my weight and it's always been incredibly challenging to lose. Over the last two weeks the scale has gone up 5 pounds in spite of tracking my food (it's like I gained 5 pounds of water weight at the start of my last period and it stuck around). I haven't been exercising as much as I used to because I was sick with bronchitis and then had to travel for work (my hotel room had a scale which was helpful). Anyway, the point is, I feel like my body is rebelling against me. I am making good, conscientious decisions. I am keeping my carbs minimal. I am tracking my food and staying within the appropriate range. I feel like everything I eat is just sticking to me.

I'm getting married next month. I was 8 pounds less just two months ago. Yesterday I had bridal portraits and was terrified I wouldn't be able to get zipped into my dress. Everything feels out of control with my body.

I'm also having very sudden and severe feelings of hunger. Not like "oh yeah, my stomach is growling." I'll be fine one minute and then the next I am so hungry that I am shaking, clammy, and nauseous. Can someone help me?

You'll get better advice if you open your diary.

Maybe the hungry craveings are just nerves or stress, try and relax..also maybe try drinking more water if u already arent, that could help flush you out.Iam sure you will be fine, try and take some relaxing walks, hang in there...
  • Hi there, first of all I just want to say that I absolutely know how you are feeling! This summer I was feeling the exact same and I was actually starting to get scared to look at the scale because no matter what I did, I felt like it just kept going up and up! Anyways, I thought I would just share with you what I have been doing. I have started a completely nutritional cleansing and meal replacement system. With this you have two shakes a day and one meal, and then there are also days on which you can cleanse. I decided to give this system a try after my mom had such a huge success with it (50 pounds lost in 5 months!). I was nervous that I was always going to be hungry though, and now that I have started I can tell you that that is not the case, I am always very full and I am feeling great! I have been doing this for 30 days and have been able to lose 11 pounds and I love it! Anyways, if you want to know more information please email me at shalyn_pigeon@hotmail.com and I call tell you more! :D

Is the wedding stressing you out? Because that can give you more hunger, believe it or not, and causes your body to retain fat. I would consider doing some meditation or yoga or some other relaxing, centering exercise multiple times a week. Additionally, you might consider opening up your MFP food diary so you can get some ideas about your diet. :) (You can change the settings so that your diary isn't private anymore).
