I'm Gonna Stick To It..

Hey Everyone..
Just thought I'd introduce myself and say hi..
I'm 31 and I've gained about 20kgs in the past few years. I used to be 60kg and now I'm all the way up at 80kg.
I've tried several times before to get this weight off, but always seem to give up for one reason or another.
So I joined the gym yesterday and spent an hour there and the same again today. I hate cardio exercises so spend most of my time doing weights..
Hope everyone is doing well on their journeys :)

    Hi Michelle,

I know the feeling. I have be in the gym now for about 4 months I guess. I find that weight training a great benefit. I read somewhere that when you are weight training the body continues to burn calories long after you've left the gym. It seems to be working for me. Hopefully I can continue to overcome my laziness long enough to make the life-style change permanent or, at least see some changes in my body.

    Good luck to you.

well done Michelle, try not to be influenced by what other people are doing at the gym or with their diets etc. set yourself little targets and every day try to better them. xx

Welcome! Glad you found a gym to work out in. Set a goal for yourself and crush it! Set another and crush that one too! Remember, fitness is not a destination, it's a journey so always move forward. It's 20% gym, 80% nutrition and 100% attitude!
  • Thanks for your encouragement everyone! I'm off for my third session at the gym and I'm still quiet sore as I haven't worked out in over 10 months. I can't wait to work out though. I just hope my determination will stay as positive as it is now in a few weeks time!
