SPAM POSTERS

Hi all,

I'm sure you have seen on the boards over the past few days there has been a wealth of spam posts by fake users. I report everyone I see, but if you guys see them, also report them to make sure they are cleared up quicker...

Is there a way to alert MFP to delete these fake users rather than just their posts?

  • I believe they look at post count/join date/history when dealing with spam reports. Unfortunately there aren't always mod online, so sometimes it takes longer than others to get them taken care of.

Just don't reply to those posts. They are made by bots who will not be reading your replies. All you are doing by replying is bumping the post higher into view. I hate this time of the day on the forums and I really don't get it.. is it really that profitable for them? Are there really people around here who call india to solve their marriage problems by black magic?
  • That's a shame, I think the spam bots must know this as well it always seems to be early morning (UK) when all the posts appear.

Also some of the profiles are ridiculous - 2,754 lbs to lose? doesn't seem right to me ;)

Awwww! They're not real? That's too bad. I was hoping the answers to all my questions in life were just a phone call away.
