Pant sizing

I wasn't sure where to put this topic so sorry if this is in the wrong place. Anyways I have a question about pant sizing. I wear a 13 in juniors. A 14 in women's. But I recently went to target and got a pair if 10s as goal pants. And I tried them on but they fit perfectly. They fit me like 13s did. They are by Mossimo Supply Co. I have two other pairs from them one pair that is an 11 and one that is a 15. The 11s are WAY small. and the 15s are too big in the legs but too small in the crotch area. Am I missing something here? I know I'm not a size 10 yet. I still weigh 183ish pounds.

  • Sometimes pants can be mis-labeled, they can be sized wrong when manufactured, etc. There are so many ways they can be made incorrectly...so it might just be one of those. Obviously, brands differ and there's a lot of variations in sizes between brands. That certain pair was probably just an oops in manufacturing. In my opinion!

vanity sizing. I recently bought a pair of Bandolino Blu capri pants at a local second hand store in a size 10 which should be squishing a major muffin top out on me still at this point, and they fit with room to spare. Many many many companies are guilty of this; Old Navy and Gap are prime examples. If you picked up a 10 years ago size 10 jeans from Gap and compared them to a today size 10 from Gap, you'd see a massive difference. They want people to think they are smaller than they actually are (this is true of men's and women's sizes too)
