Hi All,
Australia day is approaching (wednesday the 26th of Jan, for non-Aussies) and as Australians will know its generally a day full of Beer and Barbecued Sausages.
Any suggestions on how to stick to my calorie goals on this challenging day? Planning to excersise in the morning before the festivities start.
The only other thought I had was to go to my friends house and continually swim in her pool to burn off the calories through out the day :P

Plan your meals for that special day....in advance. Eat a healthy meal BEFORE you attend the festivities so you won't be hungry. The beer will only make losing weight more difficult due to the high salt content that causes water retention. The alcohol in beer raises the triglycerides in your blood which turns to fat quickly. Sausages are extremely high fat and high salt.
The visit at the friend's home sounds like a good one. You can have a nice visit and burn calories by swimming laps in the pool.0 -
And don't forget to follow every beer with an equal amount of water. It will keep you feeling full so you'll eat less, and will keep you hydrated so you don't suffer the next day!0

Organise some fun games. Backyard cricket, set up an obstacle course etc. hand out prizes to the winners of each game and make it fun.
You can always put some music on and dance as well.
If you are going to eat the sausages, make sure you only have one or two at the most. Back it up with lots of healthy salad or grillled vegetables.
