If you LOL your own joke is it bad form?

I find my self LOLing at the end of every statement when I text -sometimes I am not even funny? Definitely not laughing.
Is this bad etiquette? LOL <--- SEE

I laugh at my own jokes all the time, it's nice to be able to amuse yourself.

Well, you are violating the first rule of comedy: Do not laugh at your own jokes.

    i don't use "lol."

but i am one funny mother, so sometimes i will use "ha ha" but usually it's to indicate to someone else that i am joking. i am not literally laughing.

i guess rule 2 would be "don't perform your routine via text messages"

I am my favorite comedian. Other wise what would be the point of even making funnies if you cannot laugh at them?

Tell that to Click and Clack, the tappet brothers. They had a 30+ year run on radio laughing at themselves and their own jokes.

First rule of Comedy: Learn the rules then break the rules.

Only I do use lol occasionally, but for the same reason and no, not really laughing.

I'm the funniest (also the most vulgar) person I know. I LOL at myself IRL. I don't text though.

Be careful, or the LOLice will be breaking down your doors. They monitor the internet constantly for this type of violation :)

I don't know a single funny person who says "LOL" after they make a joke.

Actually laughing out loud at your own jokes is fine. Typing (or saying) "LOL" after making a joke is not.
