Crazy Beach Body Coaches! HELP!

Okay, I'm new to all of this. I used to be super in shape and athletic, and then I discovered college and $5 all you can eat bufetts lol! Anyway, in my efforts to lose weight, I came across a friend who is a trainer for beachbody. Knowing nothing about it, I listened to her about it. It sounded like it was worth a try, but I decided to research it further, and it seems like not only is it a total waste of money, but MANY (not all) of the people I found doing it, just want to stuff it down your throat...I mean, I get that these exercises help and these shakes may be healthy for you, but I'm not chopping off my right arm to do it. I have a gym membership, I'm making healthier eating choices, I'm in the right direction. But then today some random friend of a friend messaged me saying that she's a beachbody coach, and then wanted to give me some helpful tips. I turned her down because she was trying to sell me stuff. But then she had the nerve to say that my efforts were never going to help me lose weight. That I need to be super clean eating, and if I don't have shakeology, I might as well just fling myself off of a bridge...end rant! Please tell me you don't need all that fancy crap to lose the weight. I don't want to rely on some gimmick because at the end of my mini journey, I'm gonna be happy that I did it all by myself, for myself!

I believe unsolicited contact like you received from the friend of a friend is against Beachbody's coaching agreement. You can report her behavior to compliance@teambeachbody.com.
  • Don't make this harder than it is.
You don't need Shakeology or anything else to lose weight and get fit.

    Here's what you need-
For weight loss: calories in < calories out. Simple. Doesn't matter how you do it. This is the only way you can lose fat.

To Maintain or build muscle: lift weights, eat protein

The ways to go about doing it are varied, but the end point is all the same. Shakeology is fine, but there are dozens of other things out there that do the same thing.

Focus on eating healthy food. Figure out your basic metabolic rate (google it). Eat LESS than that amount of calories daily. You will lose weight.

When people on here complain that they "just can't lose weight" no matter how hard they try, just know that the answer is the same for all of them: you need to eat fewer calories than you burn in a day. That's it.

    Get lots of rest.
    don't starve yourself
    drink lots of water.

None of this requires any fancy supplement or "super food super duper nutrition micro/phyto/macronutrient shake."

Most of that stuff is just people trying to make money off of you.
