The "whoosh" is the best feeling

For three and a half weeks I had been stuck between 207 and 210. I wasn't happy, obviously, but I wasn't quite ready to ask MFP for advice. In the last two days, though? The weight has flown off, and I'm actually now just below 205!

Moral of the story: weight loss is confusing and awesome

The whoosh- I love it! You dont know when it's coming, sometimes u think it's never going to happen, then, like a spider-monkey, it gets ya. It's lovely! Another (couple) pound(s) bite(s) the dust- happy for you!!

Sadly, it's been a little too long for me to remember how that feels

You should fix that. Partner-assisted exercise is highly effective.

Puring a 3 wood from the fairway is the best feeling but that whoosh is a close second after you are stuck for awhile. Just had a whoosh myself to get one pound from original goal after struggling for weeks.

This whoosh effect is more for weight loss then some sort of appearance or actually feeling smaller.

My weight was pretty flat for a week and a half, now I've lost like 4.5 pounds in the last three days. It's pretty sweet.

I'm patiently (or not so patiently) awaiting the whoosh myself! It needs to hurry up because I'm getting frustrated and for me it will be the best feeling once I get under 190 so I totally get what you're saying! Congrats!!

The first two weeks of my diet I lost nothing at all and got really depressed because I was working hard and had nothing to show for it but unlike my usual self I stayed with it and lost 6lbs the next 2 weeks. I learned the body is a weird beast and from now on I only weigh myself once a month.

Actually the moral here is dedication and hard work pays off over time, you just have to stay determined and keep moving forward when you reach troughs low times.

I agree it's confusing. I ate at maintenance for two days, relaxed, didn't do a a damned thing for exercise and lost two pounds in those two days. After stalling for a month. What?! I think stress sometimes plays a big role.

That is EXACTLY what happened to me, twice now! If that's what it takes, I'm not going to argue.

Yeah that and metabolism slow down from eating calorie deficit. Also hormone levels make a difference in weight loss.

Sadly, the only "whoosh" I ever seem to get is water weight loss. Stupid female body.

I've never had a whoosh. And I've been stuck between 196-203 since last November. I wish it would whoosh already! haha

    Congrats to you though! :)

    I love the whoosh.

If I could choose between four whooshes a month or Something Else, I'd skip the Something Else.

I have to disagree. Everyone knows the best feeling is when you wake up in the middle of night and think it's time to get up for work, but when you look at the clock it's only like 3am. That feeling you get when you realize that you still have a few hours of sleep left is the best feeling ever :)
