Water breaks during exercise

Hi Everyone,
Just had a quick question - My friend and I have been going to the gym quite recently and she tends not to take any water breaks during her workouts whereas I take every 10 minutes a sip of water while on the elliptical. Is it better for your muscles and body to wait until you finish your workout to drink water or during your workout or after each period of cardio/strength workout?
Just wanted some thoughts.
Thanks

Well I know when I was running for 75 mins daily on the ellitptical one time I ran out of water and said I get some after my workout. This one lady approached me and said" I see you are in the zone. Would like like me to fill up your body" Why not right.
It was funny cause later during her run I approached her with a paper towels and she just simled took the towel to wip off some of her sweat.
Some people do not really sweat at all during workouts.0 -
Drink when you want to. I don't use machines, I run or cycle. I'm generally good for about 12km without water now, so just over an hour. More than that I'll carry something.0

I think its much more important to be fully hydrated before exercising. My bf could tell the difference on the days he didn't drink enough water and days he did when he was playing ball hockey.0

exacty..
the time to hydrate is before you train if you wait until during then it's not going to work and you might even start cramping.
i'd also think if you're going every 10 minutes then you're probably not getting as much out of your workout as you could, especially if that break ends up being several minutes0 -
small amounts frequently if its a long or intense workout. better to stay hydrated, but not water logged lol0

I drink if I'm thirsty. Mainly I just sip because my mouth gets awful dry sometimes and I feel sick. I guess it depends on the individual?0

I drink a bunch before but I sweat a disgusting amount while working out so I do have to keep taking water breaks. I don't stop moving though, I just take a sip while exercising every 10 or 15 minutes.0
