anybody else think Johnny really lost to the Devil?

I'm not a musician so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the devil's number sounded more difficult and more impressive.

In all fairness, the Devil did have an entire band to suppoirt him while Johnny was playing solo.

but hearing that song "covered" the devil's number always sounds like kaka, while Johnny's sounds very much like the recorded version.

Charlie Daniels has addressed this himself (and he wrote and performed both solos). The Devil's solo is just random noise with no real melody. It's a trick of fast playing to sound complicated, but there's no depth to it.

    So yeah, Johnny won.

well, due to my preconceived notions on this idea, I'm going to still consider you wrong, and my initial thoughts correct. I'll be off for a second to assimilate irrelevant data that supports my preconceived notion.

It's times like these that I'm really happy I check out these threads. Love finding out new trivia.

Now if someone could give me an explanation why braille is on drive-up atms. Or is it just a standard that they make all atms with braille instructions and don't bother manufacturing separate instruction panels.
  • devil played pretty good ole sun, but i'll take your bet johnny won because he was the best that's ever been

In the sequel, the ending does not state the victor outright, but video suggests Johnny won, as does the line "Johnny's still the best that's ever been".

This is just a guess (but I pretty good one I think), but I'd say because of the ADA. I'd imagine it's required for all ATMs, so that includes drive-throughs unless specifically called out otherwise. Also, even if drive up ATMs were excluded, it would probably be cheaper to just have one model of ATM with braille on all of them, than it would to have different kinds for drive-throughs.
