I've been hearing the term "carb loading" a lot and I was wondering what it means? And why carbs are so important to runners before a meet? Thanks guys!

Its important especially for longer distances. For short activities you will likely have enough stored energy.
Its basically to make sure you energy reserves are not depleted before starting an endurance activity.0 -
If you're doing a run longer than 2 hours then this becomes a factor. Shorter than that and your body will have enough energy stored normally to account for the exercise.0
