Need Motivation? Go Clothes Shopping....

After getting plenty of compliments over the past couple of weeks, I was feeling pretty proud and good about myself. My sons birthday party and our family pics is next weekend. My husband and I went shopping for clothes. Ouch. In the dressing room with a shirt I'm entirely sure is too big, and pants that make fat bulge in places they shouldn't... What the heck? Didn't I lose 85 lbs? Why do I still look like I did 85 lbs ago? My husband is always so supportive, and too kind to be honest. The lady helping was nice, and probably understood more than she let on. Ugh. Alright... I hope I'm more pleased after the next 55 lbs come off....

LOL! I completely agree, sometimes that's a great motivator. Seeing how you look from 3 or 4 different angles can be a shocker sometimes. But then again, sometimes you get a pleasant NSV when something you didn't think would fit and still look good actually does!

Buy new clothes. It isn't because you deserve it because you've lost weight. It is becuase you deserve to treat yourself like you matter no matter what you weight. Why not look your best and treat yourself well even before you get to "goal." As if reaching a goal is the only time we are worthy of looking attractive? Have you ever noticed the success thread.. some of those wonderful people have worked so hard and lost so much weight..and they have the same pulled up hair and old clothes on. I say get styling people!

Last week I spent about two hours tring on so many things i couldn't keep count. I left the store with three complete outfits that looked good on me now. I'm not waiting for 20 more pounds to treat myself like a decent person. It actually keeps you motivated.

Now get to the mall. :flowerforyou:
