Starting a beginner's class in Tai Chi next Tuesday. What to expect? What to wear or bring with me?

Just wear something comfortable that you can move in. Take it easy and embrace the movement... moving slowly is far harder than most would thing. Enjoy the experience!0

I love my tai chi classes! I hope you enjoy it a lot, too. I've learned the modified Wu style (119 steps). Do you know which style you'll be learning?
Expect to have to practise a lot more than you now expect to. It's not as easy as it looks (or so I thought anyway). One tai-chi step can have up to 9 movements within it. Stance is important, too, and it takes awhile to get it right.
I wear yoga pants and a loose t-shirt to class. I found that wearing a long sleeved t-shirt was too warm and now always wear a short sleeved one. Moving slow is hard and it really warms you up a lot.
Your thighs will be sore (at first).
Have fun. It's a really fun way to spend some time.
