Candy Bar Craving

Ok everyone, I have had a major craving for a candy bar for a couple of days. What kind of candy bar/candy bar substitute can I eat without ruining my diet? (This will be a 1-time thing, perhaps once a month.)

I love candy and especially chocolate! I've swapped out my candy for a piece of dark chocolate and I haven't been craving candy bars @ all!0

I say eat the candy bar and count the calories! Hopefully the realization of how many calories are in the candy will stop you dead in your tracks :-) But if it doesn't, that's OK!!! You shouldn't deprive yourself! Just make smart choices and control your portions!0

I say, treat yourself to one bar per month of your favorite. If you feel too guilty about it (which I wouldn't), then maybe just eat half.
EDIT TO ADD:
That although I do give in to my cravings from time to time, I do find that I crave these things less and less. So, in the beginning, it may make it easier to allow yourself the treat. As time goes on, you just naturally look at food differently and really ponder if something is "worth" eating.0 -
I do the Fiber one bars! The caramel ones are especially sweet and soooo good. Plus you get 9 grams of fiber and I think 3 grams of protein. Super yummy and only 140 cals!0

To help me when I am craving candy or chocolate, I have a Fiber One 90 Calorie bar. They are very good and fill you up also.0

yea I say have it- I've switched to dark choc but only cuz I love it (Godiva Dark Choc and raspberry...mmmmm..and its in segments so if you dont want the whole thing you dont have to) But I eat at least one candy bar a week. Proly more0

I am so not the person to ask this today ... I have had 5 squares of chocolate.
On OTHER days however, I do crunchy unsalted almond butter ... it is SOOOOOOOOOOOO good but not everyone likes it.0 -
Personally, I would eat what you're craving. If you're like me you have a specific one in mind. I'm a Snickers gal myself. Mmmmmm.
If you pawn off your craving on a candy bar you didn't want as much because it was healthier it might not do the trick.
To maybe wean off of actual candy bars, depending on what you like (like I said, I'm a Snickers, so peanuty, chocolatey is my thing) there are some NUTrition (yeh, that's how they do it) by Planters that are AWESOME. For 170 calories for my favorite - the chocolate peanuty one of course - they're very good and I don't typically feel bad about eating them.0 -
I love the fiber plus bars (not to be confused with the fiber one bars). They are yummy, high fiber and protein and about 130 in calories.0

If you like ice cream, I highly recommend the Smart Ones candy bar ice cream bars.
They are 150 calories each. It is like a frozen snickers bar made with vanilla ice crea with caramel and peanuts on top and covered all around with chocolate. They are really yummy!
You buy them in the ice cream section of the supermarket and there are 6 in the box.0 -
you could research the ingredients of your favorite candy bars. maybe you'll be so disgusted you won't want them anymore, unless you don't care about eating bugs...LOL i'm torn! i know what's in them, yet i still eat them! but i'm trying to learn how to actually make my own versions of my favorites.0

I don't crave candy but I love love love cookies... I just have hubby put them up on the highest kitchen shelf and if I want one I have to ask him... it keeps me accountable... He would never tell me "no" but it's just my way of keeping myself in check.0

I'd say a Fiber One, Fiber Plus or a Special K protein bar. They all taste like candy bars to me!0

I will buy a hershey bar , break it into seperate single pieces, drop them in a ziplock bag, place in freezer and when that occasional chocolate craving comes I pop one in my mouth and let it melt.
get my candy, chocolate and satisfy my craving all in one.

To be honest I prefer protein bars or fiber bars to candy bars. Seems like a candy bar just doesn't seem to really satisfy me. I do want one sometimes, but usually regret it because it leaves me wanting something more filling.0

Oh yeah the Special K ones totally taste like candy bars. The Kasi Go Lean Roll ones do too.0

I am a chocoholic and I haven't had a candy bar in 25 days. However, I combat my chocolate cravings daily. At one time I use to do chocolate day once a week and have a hersheys with almonds, but still stayed under my calorie goals. But now I get my chocolate fix in other more healthy ways. Cocoa roasted almonds made by emerald are good, as are chocolate cheerios or chocolate flavored mini wheat mini bites. I use all of those for snacking to keep me from going bonkers with candy, and believe me I would go bonkers.0

The Fiber Plus chocolate peanut butter is really good or a really good sub, that I use is the Atkins Endulge bars. I have the ones that taste like snickers lol. Its the carmel nut chocolate one.0

TRY KELLOGG'S FIBER PLUS ANTIOXIDANTS CHEWY BARS.... IT TASTE LIKE UR EATTING A CANDY BAR... IT ALSO HEALTHY FOR U AND IT 35% OF UR DAILY FIBER.... THERE CHOCOLATE CHIP BAR, CHOC. PEANUT BUTTER BAR OR DARK CHOC. ALMOND BAR BUT I LIKE DARK CHOCOLATE ALMOND BAR THE BEST.... YUMMY AND ENJOY!!!!0

If you want to do it once a month I say find a bag of the mini version of the candy bar you like. (or the fun size, if they don't make a mini). Take 12 out of the bag and give the rest away. (give 'em to a friend, set 'em out at work, give 'em to an SO to take to work, whatever.) Eat your one that you want now for this month and put the rest in the freezer. Each month go in and pull out one when you really want it, let it defrost and enjoy that flavor of exactly what you want.
Anytime during the remainder of the days, I'd say most any of the above are good suggestions. Special K, Kellogg's Fiber Plus, Fiber One bars, etc are all extremely tasty and very much like candy bars in themselves. But if you truly have a favorite candy bar, then that craving will prolly only be truly satiated by getting that exact flavor combo, so just portion control it and you should be fine.0 -
I like the fiber bars also.What about a low calorie hot chocolate?you could drink it slow and maybe that would help with the cravings.Good luck!0

I usually eat a Kellogs fiber plus w/ chocalate chips bar (120 cals I think) or a york peppermint patty. Also, if you are able to resist the temtaption of having the whole bag in the house, milky way or 3 musketeers minis are a good option at 40 and 30 cals a piece.0

pure protein bars - you don't ruin your diet- only about 2-3 gm of sugar- but it's really " chocolaty " for me.. and something that's actually good for you - you get the protein in .. no guilt .. just joy
my trainer said i can actually have " one per day " of course- it has to be incorp. into your kcls/carb etc budget.. but it works for me0 -
I don't know what country you're in, but during my recent stays in the US, I kind of fell in love with Luna bars. I haven't researched if their ingredients are as natural as they claim, but the taste is great, they're high in protein and have between 170-190 cal as far as I can tell. I usually buy a bunch for those 24h trans-atlantic trips where you keep eating just to keep functioning and it's very hard to control food intake.0
