Going to the gym before work for the 1st time

I'm worried about going to the gym before work. I don't want to be late for work and I need to take a shower at the gym which I have never done before. The cardio class starts at 6:15 am and ends at 7:15. I have to be at work at 8:15 am. Will I be able to shower and put on makeup and get to work by 8:15? The gym is down the block from the train and is 6 stops away.

I don't think any of us could possibly answer this question.

    Good luck!

Personally I have to go after work. I'm a procrastinator, so I'd end up late.
But it sounds like your gym is close enough to your job for this to work. I'm sure an hour is plenty enough time to shower and dress and get there on time.

How is this something you are not able to figure out on your own? Google Maps the time it takes from the train station to your work, then add on the average time you take to shower/get dressed-see if it is equal to or less than the hour that you have from the end of class to the time you need to be at work.

If you know you don't have a lot of time, take a quicker shower. An hour seems like more than enough time.

your cardio class ends at the gym at 7:15. you have to be at work at 8:15. you have to shower, get work appropriate, get to the train stop, wait for train, ride it 6 stops, then get into office - within 1 hour. assuming your cardio class does not go over its allotted time at all (which from my experience it is not super uncommon for them to start late and end late). i think your chances of getting to work on time are slim and nil.

i am a lover of before work workouts, and hit the gym early morning quite often before work, but your time frame does not sound feasible from the info you've shared.

you can do it. you can leave the class a little early if you'd like. shower and change quickly... i mean, just try it once, right? see what happens.

Um. how is it at all possible for us to answer this question realistically???

My magic 8 ball says odds are good- but honestly I have no idea how long it takes for you to put your face on and how long it takes to shower.

I take about 7 min long showers- but I put on more make up than most people do- so it evens out to about 30 min all and all.

But my BF- he's a woman pretty much and it takes him an hour to shave and shower. So he'd be late- I wouldn't.

Something that may help take some time off is trying Dry Shampoo. Instead of washing your hair with water use dry shampoo. Blow dry the sweat (I know it sounds terrible but it isn't). Then use dry shampoo on your scalp. It will absorb the oils and remove any smell. Then wash it at night with water at home. I do this pretty regularly and nobody can tell.

Take a quick shower. And make sure you wear flip flops, never know what could be lurking on the ground.

I was about to view and bounce, but this comment... DEAD ON. Keep your feet ABOVE standing water, else risk your toenails turning yellow and peeling all the way down. :noway:
