Food scale or Heart Rate Monitor

Which would be more beneficial a food scale or heart rate monitor? I measure my food & my hubby is a butcher, so he measures the meat that I eat, so I think i am logging accurate information. As far as calories burned...I am just going by the online / MFP calculator, so it is a generic guest-i-mate.

Depends what you are trying to achieve, I guess.
If you want to focus on weight loss, then I would say the food scale. If you want to focus on improving your cardio fitness, then I would say the HRM.0 -
Both. If you don't weigh your food, you don't know how much you're eating. If you don't wear a HRM (only useful for cardio though) you don't know how much you're burning. The MFP calculators are typically inflated, so a lot of people eat back half the calories it gives you.0

I've invested in both, but I picked the food scale first. The HRM took a bit longer to research, whereas scales are fairly straightforward.0

If you have to pick one it would be the food scale. It is way too easy to eat to big a portion from guessing.
Calories from working out are not as importing to track. But be careful of the on line tool numbers. If I walk the golf course and it takes me 4 hours to play a round I doubt I would really burn 1,791 calories.
Of course I would rather say get both.0 -
I have both. From experience, if you use the scale for a few weeks you'll then be able to eye ball your portions and it becomes a useless tool in the kitchen. My HRM I use regularly.0
