Back and forth

My whole life I have been chubby. I wouldn't say that I am obese or overweight (in Spanish culture I am the perfect weight :).. but I want to be cut and chiseled and all I can be. About two years ago I was heavy in the gym all the time until I hurt my back. With the pressures of trying to graduate college and whatnot I kind of let my goal of being healthier than I have ever been slip from my fingers. I am and always have been active. I would never shy away from an opportunity from playing basketball, football, or soccer. To be honest my downfall is and always has been my diet. I love sweets. I don't eat fast food. I stay away from fried foods as much as possible. I eat all my vegetable but I just cannot turn down the sugary stuff. Since its already all out in the open I was at cheesecake factory last night! I guess you can say self-control is my biggest issue. This is what has brought me back to MFP. I want to do a better job at keeping track of what I eat. I plan on having a cheat day or two in the week but I want to keep it under control. At the moment I have 2 healthy days and 5 cheat days :), we need to reverse that.

You can do it! If you ever need help, don't hesitate to ask!
  • You can lose weight AND indulge. I don't do "cheat days" because that insinuates that I did something wrong, that I'm supposed to feel guilty for treating myself. That being said, I TREAT myself, I don't gorge myself. I have a slice of cheesecake, not a 1/3 of the WHOLE cake. I eat cookies; one or two servings, not a whole sleeve of them. It can be done. Feel free to add me or browse through my Diary, you'll see that I eat like a normal person, I don't restrict myself and I don't follow diets. And I've lost nearly 100 pounds.
  • Thank you both! You are absolutely right, I have always felt that in moderation there is nothing completely terrible for you. That is where the self control part comes in. I have been better, just not there yet!
