protein and strength raining question

im going to start over and try lifting again and would like to know if the timing of protein matters before or after working out. and id like to know how much is needed before or after.

I go by 1g protein per 1lb of lean body mass, so 125g of protein a day for me. I usually do my high(er) protein meals/snacks after my work outs, but that's also because I work out first thing in the morning.0

Timing is somewhat irrelevant unless you are an elite athlete training multiple times a day in my opinion.0
