I haven't weighed myself in over 2 months!

And I'm still alive! I've really decided to break up with my scale, and I've never been happier. Since my main goal is just to fit into my clothes well- and I KNOW what fits the way it's supposed to and when I need to buckle down on my eating/workouts. Just wanted to share since I am not letting the scale rule my life anymore!

I am exactly the same as you.
My scales ended up in the trees with the squirrels some time ago and now rely on measuring only as well as clothes fit.

    Great work.

    Well done!

For me though, I like to weigh once in a while to make sure I'm not putting weight back on...

    You are my hero!

I would love to demolish the scale, but I just can't bring myself to do it.... :frown:

I'm with ya. I've not weighed myself since the beginning of March.
    ...

Coincidentally, I've also not hated myself since the beginning of March.

Me too. I haven't logged for a long time either, but I am exercising every day and watching what I eat. My size 12 pants was becoming tight, and now that I am back on the exercise trial (and winter is finally behind me), I am back into size 10 pants, due to my teams members on in the 3500 calories per week group - really keep me focus and pushing to get those 3500 exercise calories in.

I am just frustrated with all the food on my list and not being able to delete them. It seems to take forever to find an item. I would really love if there was a way to delete all my foods and start afresh.

I'm with you! I don't even have a scale at home anymore. I'm doing New rules of lifting for women, so I made a deal with myself to only weigh at the end of each stage. I just weighed myself (at work) last week after finishing stage 1, just to be sure I was eating enough. I don't think I'll ever buy a scale again... :-)

Yes, I think we all know when we are gaining weight, even when we're not using the scale. Plus the scale doesn't take into account the whole fat-loss vs. muscle gain thing and your clothes do! Good for you!

Can people on here still not grasp the fact that weight loss isn't linear?

I own a scale and rarely use it. I weigh in every week at Cardiac Rehab. That's what I go by. By watching my sugar and sodium intake, I have lost 12 lbs. The most I have lost so far on MFP. Drs. want 20 lbs. off for now, so I'm close. Have a great weekend.

I still have a lot to lose, so it may be different for myself, but I weigh myself daily and use the data to make cool graphs. Sure the graph zigzags but that's what linear regression/moving averages are for. :)

I haven't weighed myself in over a year. My husband pointed out that I was addicted to it one day when we had "a talk" about my weight loss, and he was upset stating that I was "more than a number" on that scale, and I would be weighing myself 5-10 times a day....so out the door it went! and I honestly feel alot less stressed about it....

But still frustrated that everything asks my weight in order to get accurate results...I really have no clue

Like I always say, the scale is like an ex-boyfriend/ex-girlfriend, there is a good reason why you left it. Make you feel bad and it plays with your emotions. ;)

As long as your clothes fit there is really no need to step on it. I might do it once every 2-3 months these days, just for curiosity sake. I don't let it define me anymore either, and I'm actually happier to see a higher number because I know it's mostly muscle if my clothes are all still fitting.

Hello friends, I do the same I have-not seen my scale from past 3 months. If I am right for my own standards, then I don't worry too much about weight loss, i focus to stay fit and healthy instead of worrying about my weight, according to me its not good to use scale again and again in the same week, if you are following any plan then first of all totally focus on it, then its better to look for the result.

I did the same. I last weighed a month ago but
my clothes fit fine and I've toned so I'm well
adjusted to this. Great move on your part as well.
  • I haven´t weighed myself for 2 or 3 years. It never resulted in anything good. After weighing I always ended up eating more. Bad number = restriction= starvation= eating more and faster at the end of the day. Good number= afraid to eat not to screw up my success= restriction= starvation= eating more. Fortunately not binging or overeating but just eating more than I would have been if I hadn´t weighed myself (mostly in the evening). I am glad that I am not alone, and agree with do not let your scale rule your life.

    Good for you!

I didn't weigh myself all pregnancy, and only weighed myself last week at 4 months post partum and cried and felt so miserable, and as a result only ate just over 1200 calories that day. I can see I'm making progress so I could kick myself for weighing myself because I am now hung up n the number! However, I will be weighing once a month with my PT, and he'll take measurements too.

My scale lives in the back of my closet....under some very expensive shoes. My weight loss is very slow...that's how I want it.

I have plenty if things to drive me crazy...something I purchased at Bed, Bath and Beyond should not be one of them.

That being said I do have an evil tape measure......

Yep me and the scales are having a trial separation, although first it was only 4 days until I went running back, but they lied again so this time its for good... well at least for a month.

I haven't weighed myself in about 3 weeks and that's only because my scale's battery is dead! it's really tough for me since I fear that I'm going to step on it soon and realise I have put on a lot of weight! Well done on your discipline.
