I couldn't get it to play either, but am I correct to I assume this is about processed low fat foods, and not things like low fat fruits and vegetables?

Probably about the additives they add to make the food taste good once the fat has been removed?

What was so shocking about it?

She discovered that processed foods don't taste good. They up the sugar and salt to give it flavor when they cut the fat down. She gained 3lbs in a month (which is well within normal weight fluctuations), most likely due to water weight from the salt.

I really don't get what was shocking...

(Yes, she was only eating processed, microwaved frozen meals for a month. No fresh fruits or veggies. I think this was obvious from the beginning that its not a healthy, balanced diet.)

Yes i skipped through quickly, the presenter of the documentary eats nothing but pre-packaged low fat foods for 1 month to see the effects on her body. They skip over aspartame in diet drinks and mention the uk Food Standards agency have set a recommemded limit of 14 cans per day (however fail to mention that the FSA recommendation is based on the maximum amount of aspartame per drink, http://www.food.gov.uk/science/additives/aspartame , the actual limit is 40mg/kg of bodyweight).
They also do an experiment to see if people do eat more when drinking diet soda, however the experiment isn't (imho) very controlled. They get 2 groups of people to drink as much soda as they like and then ask them to eat as much as they like from a buffet.

The conclussion is that eating an exclusively low fat diet from pre-packaged foods is bad for you, because of the amount of sodium contained in them, also fat is required for hormone levels and for your body to utilize fat soluble vitamins, so a balanced diet is best.
