I started my diet on 10/08/14 over the next 2 weeks i lost 12lbs and thought ohhh this is going to be easy ...Since then i haven't lost a pound
I am counting every calorie i eat , I'm also under the doctor for weight loss as i need to lose it for medical reasons
My doctor put me on 1500 calories a day as at the moment i'm house bound and not able to do exercise
this last week ive even cut down even less as it's so disheartening not to lose any weight for the last 3 weeks .
In total i need to lose about 12 stone but i have only set my first goal at 5 stone as i thought to say 12stone straight away was a dream to far
I would be grateful of any tips Thanks in advance x

Are you weighing and measuring your food? Do you measure yourself?
Have you read this post ? --> http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants
I probably would start there. Also keep your faith. Weightloss isn't linear, you may find out that you are losing inches instead of pounds.0 -
I'm not weighing my food my portions have more than halved since starting the diet ive had slimming world cottage pie with side salad tonight which fit on a bread and butter/side plate where as before i would of had a big dinner plate
I can see i will have to start and weigh my food as well .
I can feel ive lost it in inches as ive had to go down a size in underwear /knickers as i was losing them all the time lol

Firstly keep it up things should get better. weight loss is not linear. At first you drop a lot which is typically water from eating less salt, waste material in your bowls. Then you will start to drop fat. You need to be happy with a target of 1-2 pounds a week since this a healthy amount of weight loss to do. Since you started about 6 weeks ago you should be at the 6-12 pound level right now. Looks like you are.
If you don't drop anything else in the next two weeks I would say consult your doctor again since it seems you need monitoring.
But also are you certain you are hitting the 1,500? It is very easy to underestimate portion sizes unless you weigh everything and track every single thing.
I'm only two weeks into this attempt to be healthy, but I have done the same method over the years many other times. Every single time I drop 10-15 pounds in the first 2-3 weeks, then hold still for a few weeks, then start to drop a pound a week after that.0 -
The initial 12 pounds likely was some water weight and not all fat. You're probably putting the water weight back on as you continue to lose fat at a more reasonable rate, evening things out. The scale will go down again. Patience!0

Not knowing your stats, it's hard to say, but maybe 1500 is actually too high of calories since you seem to indicate you are sedentary.
Or, maybe you are expecting too much weight loss, too soon.
Or, maybe you need to weigh all your food in grams and make sure you are picking accurate entries in MFP. You may be surprised at how many are WAY off.
Or, maybe you are losing inches, but not scale weight right this minute.
You may just be in a small stall. It happens to everyone. Just keep doing your best.0 -

Yes weighing things makes a huge difference. I used to think a steak served at the restaurant was many 1.5 servings of meat. It is typically actually 4 servings or more.
A food scale will really open your eyes to what a real portion is.0
