Hello! I am a 25 year old mother of 2 and i have ALWAys Struggled with weight. I have tried it all. I like to think i make healthy choices (most of the time), i weigh my food, i try to control portion sizes and its just not enough. I lose 10-15 lbs and then NOTHING! So, i have decided after much research, and really liking the results ive seen, i am going to do the advocare 24 day challenge.
Has anyone ever done this? How was is? if you were dedicated, did it work?
Also, was wondering if anyone would be willing to be a supporter and do it with me?!

Before doing the 24 Day challenge you should really check out the FB page Advo-truth!! They have a lot of great information about this scam Advocare. You do realize all their products are made with cheap raw materials and they use Splenda in a lot of them. Just check out the FB page and decide for yourself.0

Advocare products are NOT junk. They are created by some of the best and most highly respected scientific researchers in the country- Google them yourself.Their names are easily available on the Advocare home page.
Quite frankly I (not being a scientist) tend to trust the universities that have hired them and backed them before I would trust a FB page dissing them.
This is what I KNOW, from personal experience: Advocare has another program called Lean in 13, created by a nutritionist named Jenny Donnelly. The 24 day challenge is this essentially, with the added preface of a 10 day cleanse. I did this program myself a few years ago, and lost 15 lbs in about 6 weeks following it to the letter with mild exercise ( I was kinda lazy). I kept that weight off with 20 minutes a day at the gym and a sensible diet.
So, scam? We've used Advocare for about 5 years now, and can definitely tell the difference in our health. My husband had the deadly trifecta: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high blood sugar. He started using Advocare sports products simply to support his rookie running program since he was about 50 lbs overweight as well. 5 years later he is off all meds and 40 lbs lost has stayed lost. So all I can tell you is what we know: it isn't some magic pill or program- you have to work and be realistic. BUT, we believe that the products ABSOLUTELY aided both of us in establishing a much healthier lifestyle. That's our story; you do the research and decide for yourself.0 -
"Cleanse" in this instance is a synonym for scam.0

My fiancee's father had two of the three of the 'deadly trifecta'. He started walking daily, gave up donuts and french fries, and started having yogurt with flaxseed oil for breakfast. He dropped the same amount of weight and is off his medications too. This is even with the genetic predisposition to high cholesterol - his sister's cholesterol is over 400 without medication even with a decent diet.
To the OP: It's up to you. If you think spending money on this program will help you, then it's your money to spend. But choosing better food options, exercising, and eating at a deficit will do the exact same thing. Trust me if I can do it, anyone can! I'm not sure how much Advocare costs but I bet you can buy a lot of fresh produce and lean meats with it regardless! Good luck with whatever you decide.0 -
If you hit "Advocare 24 Day Challenge" you'll find quite a few others have brought up this topic before. And it's always a mixed bag what people say. (And some, it seems to me, sell Advocare products or represent the company in some way... so the conversations always feel slightly slanted.)
I have not done Advocare, but I am definitely in the camp that you don't need it. (I have other strong feelings about MLM companies in general and people that aren't nutritionists/doctors selling overpriced supplements to friends and families, but that's another topic for another day.)
Here's an alternative, if you're feeling stuck. Add some friends here (I'll be one!). Make your diary visible (if only to your friends) and seek comments. Try pushing yourself in a new, fun way when it comes to your workout. Give it 24 days. See if the scale doesn't move and you don't feel empowered to continue the journey.
Best of luck, whatever you decide to.0 -

It will cleanse your wallet. That's for sure.0 -

I had a meeting with my wallet and my liver. My wallet says she can't afford to lose more weight. My liver was highly offended that it was entertained at all, as she has no medical issues impeding her ability to detoxify.
It's been decided by powers stronger than I that "cleanses" are a waste of time and money.0
