Herbalife is always getting a bad rap. I have been doing it for 3 months and I have to say Kudos to my program. I keep my carb, protein and fat levels in check with the range they're supposed to be, I drink 1/2 my weight in water, exercise 30 minutes (or more) per day and replace meals with shakes and make conscious choices about the food that I do eat. I eat lean protein and fish, vegetables and fruits and try to limit my carb and fat/sugar/sweet intake. Hmm... This isn't a diet for me. It's a lifestyle change. My shakes contain skim milk so I'm getting my calcium, which is a benefit because I wouldn't sit and have a glass of plain milk. I have experimented with various concoctions because yes, the first time you try the shakes they might not taste the greatest without extra flavoring. I mix strawberries and other fruits, PB2, or even chocolate syrup. It's not meant to reduce you to a slave. You have to make a choice to change.

My coach does not force or even encourage me to purchase additional product or sell products. Rather, she checks with me weekly to see how I'm doing - asking if I have questions or concerns and provides me with tips for how I can improve my eating /exercise habits.

I have not had coffee since a short time after starting the program. My interest in alcohol (while social at best) has decreased. I went for annual blood work and everything came back great. I even was able to donate blood recently and not have to have them spin my blood for my iron counts.

People say that when you go off Herbalife you end up gaining... Well, if you don't stick to healthy eating, on any diet or lifestyle change, you're bound to gain weight. If you replace a healthy shake or breakfast with McDonald's then yes, you'll gain weight - simple logic.

Everyone has to make a choice about what they want to do to improve their health/food consumption/diet/lifestyle. Why do people have to constantly be bashed? I don't sell, promote or gain anything other than sharing my opinion.
As far as it being a pyramid scheme, that has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the product itself. If the SEC found cause for concern about their selling practices, the place would be closed. However, they continue to thrive and bring on new customers all the time.

Thank you for your feedback! Many have voiced the advice of just eating correct but many of us use vitamins, and supplements to help us maintain our health. Not really sure why some took your opinion/ experience as a reason to lecture you! I appreciate your two cents worth!

    LOL

I think someone has just a little too much time to spend on the forums!! Really? my turn to say LOL, over 2000 post??? I think you may have bigger issues then a person giving their experience with Herbalife.

So, you come here to ask a question and then insult the people who spend time around here answering questions? Sounds legit. This community is going to love you :flowerforyou:

LOL isn't an answer! Also didn't take too much time to type it I'm sure but thanks sooo much for taking that time, I so appreciate the knowledge you have shared, it has helped me decide as to whether or not Herbalife was a legit business.

Based on the fact you have been on here since 2010 and have only lost 6 of your 10 pounds I really wouldn't find you as qualified to answer even the most basic question. What you do obviously isn't working to well!

Lulz... A person on the site with 125 posts in 7 months works out to ~1.68 posts per day.

A person on here for 4 years with 2000 posts works out to ~1.4 posts per day.

How do you know how many times they changed their weight loss goal in 4 years?

    True!

I saw that too. I was like :noway:

I think it's a pyramid scheme right up there with It Works! and most of the other "magic weight loss" shakes/wraps/supplements/etc.

It's very simple - you take in less than you put out. However you get there is up to you.

I use whey protein once in awhile to make a smoothie, and have a protein shake made by GNC every morning. The morning one is just because I'm too darn lazy to cook in the morning, and a lot of times my stomach is super sensitive to anything containing eggs. I have no idea when that is going to happen and I'd rather not be spending my mornings in the bathroom, so the shake works perfectly for me. And the shakes I buy cost a LOT less than what I've heard things like Herbalife cost, and it tastes amazing so I'm happy with what I'm doing.

You do what's best for you and make your own path.

Oh, isn't this an interesting little add.

Well, here's the thing. I started at 149 and changed my goal. But I was never here for drastic weight loss (sorry!). I was here to run longer and faster, learn how to lift heavy things, prepare for a Tough Mudder and find some like-minded friends.

    But, if you need proof...

Would you like me to post my strength gains?
    My cardio gains?
Do you want me to talk about how I quit smoking?
How about how I completely changed my entire lifestyle with a well-rounded diet, regular exercise and sleep?
Would you like to see some pictures?

What else can I provide for you? I'm an open book, and everyone here knows it.

You want to lose weight? Eat at a deficit.

You want to waste your money chasing a pipedream that a marketing team is selling? Go for Herbalife.

Stay classy OP...What do you know about her? You have no idea of her fitness goals. Not everyone here has a ton of weight to lose. Or maybe she did, but reset her ticker. You have no idea. So please keep your snide comments and attacks to yourself when you obviously don't know what you speak of.

So, let me get this straight OP. You saw someone who had "only lost 6 of your 10 pounds" so you felt you "really wouldn't find you as qualified to answer even the most basic question." Hmmm....going based on the same assumption as you, let's pretend she never reset her ticker and only ever had 10 pounds to lose. You think someone who was never obese to begin with wouldn't have any good insight? Or someone who lifts heavy (as she clearly does in her profile pic) is completely clueless when it comes to fitness?

I don't know. With those types of attitudes and preconceptions, you sound like an ideal Herbalife/Beach Body/raspberry ketones salesperson to me. :flowerforyou:

  • I've used Herbalife for 12 months.

I think the product is good but the pyramid system is dodgy...recruit, recruit, recruit. Lots of coaches with no knowledge at all.

I started with 2 shakes a day, 2 snacks and a healthy meal, I know still have one shake a day but I measure my macros and go from there.

For all the knockers of the products their are lovers as well. Some people want to overly love it and some people want to overly hate it, normally all have their own agenda on both sides.

If it gives you a head start to get motivated I don't see a problem.

Based on the fact you have been on here since 2010 and have only lost 6 of your 10 pounds I really wouldn't find you as qualified to answer even the most basic question. What you do obviously isn't working to well!

People here don't have to "support" MLM scams and the people that adore them.

If you want to pay for expensive supplements, that's your affair entirely.

But advertising them here goes against Terms of Use.

That name and herbalife in google and we see that you're an herbalife distributor. No surprise.
  • I am currently using the products and have lost 20 lbs. I have been using it since february and have never felt pressured to sell the products. I am still enjoying the products and have enjoyed the community, even though my sponsor is 4 states away.

So curiously did you eat the same way you've been eating or did you change the way you eat? And if you did change the way you eat, you don't attribute that to your weight loss? And if it's due to the eating change, then why do you need the product since weight loss is basically about calories in/out? If you're going to reply with the "nutrition" aspect from Herbalife, there is NOTHING in it that you can't attain from eating nutritionally dense food......................for less money.
