I'm trying to up my calories at the moment (though still in defecit) as have in recent weeks had occasions when my energy has disappeared for workouts.

Trying to eat an hour before I go - but don't want it to make me feel sick with the exertion.

So what do you eat?

I like to eat a banana before a workout. It's packed with goodness and will help give you lots of energy to workout. Good luck!

Yogurt and fruit or lean protein (chicken or pork chop) and a veggie. Something around 250-300 calories total.

Oatmeal with blueberries and a little brown sugar before I go. Within an hour after the workout I eat a hard-boiled egg which seems to really help with replenishing energy.

An hour before - one slice wholemeal toast with either cottage cheese or peanut/ almond butter.

After - chocolate milk or a skinny latte.

Usually just eat a standard breakfast around 9am and workout around 11:30. That's for weight training.

For cycling or running, I will usually eat a ClifBar about 30 minutes before.

This week I'm having 2tbsp natural peanut butter and half an apple. Usually I go for something with about half the calories I plan to burn during that work out. I always pick something with carbs and protein
