Fall off the wagon

I slipped today. Never felt so bad in my life. I go on a binge and eat like 3k of calories today, at the very least. I feel like crying now....

So pick yourself back up and realize that it happens. You aren't perfect. You can't think that you will have perfect days. It isn't realistic. Realize that you will have days where you eat too much or don't work out. It isn't a bad thing, it is life. No one expects you to be perfect 100% of the time. Don't throw everything you have been working on out the door because of one day. Think how it is just one day out of how many your life. It isn't the end of the world. Learn from it and maybe in the future you can prevent it from happening again. But if it does happen, take it as a learning experience and forge ahead.

Why relapse over one day? It is just one day. Let go of the guilt because why feel guilty? You aren't perfect. No one is perfect. No one expects you to be perfect. The only thing you need to do is try to be the best person you can. Even then, it isn't the end of the world if you can't. Don't beat yourself up over eating too much. Do look to your next meal. Do look to what you can to do mitigate future problems like that. Go workout. You will feel so much better and it will burn some of those calories you ate. Focus on the positive and what good you are doing. Let go of your failures.

You are really going to throw away all of your hard work over one day? Are you willing to give in to one bad day for other things in your life?

You are allowed to eat different foods. You don't have to eat healthy all the time. If you want a cookie or cake or chocolate or drink or anything people deem as bad have it, but in moderation. I eat sweets and drink and eat not so well some days, but I don't beat myself up over it. I focus on what I need to do to correct it and move on with my day. Like this morning, I took a header while running. Did I get up and say "that's it, I am done because I fell once." No, I got up, brushed the dust off, checked for any real damage and when there was none, did another 3 miles. I wasn't going to let falling down once, end my run. It happens. That's life.

I did not workout today because normally after having a very large meal like yesterday, I will get like massive heartburn and pretty much cannot continue my workout. And that made me felt even worse...

What can you suggest I should do for this couple of days after the binge? Eat a lot less for at least these 2-3 days?
  • ^ You can't change the past. Don't worry about it. Get back on the wagon from tomorrow and get back to your normal routine. In time, it will sort itself out. Also, drink lots of water.

eat normal, don't try and compensate by undereating or you'll just end up overeating again, forget it, though easier said than done. Hit your exercise when you feel comfortable to and don't beat yourself up! its a vicous cycle x
