Hi all!
Im brand new to this website, and so far so great, but alot of these recipies seem a little too much for me. anyone know of a good like small lunch or snack that you can make with things that you may alrady have in your home?
Thanks!0 -
i personally dont have time for shopping for a bunch of dif. ingredients or preparing fun new recipes. I try to buy healthy things at the store, fruits, veggies, lean meat, low fat dairy, and some pastas, sandwich bread, frozen veggies...things that are easy to prepare and go well together. As long as you pick good healthy ingredients your options are wide open.
fruit and cheese
crackers and cheese or peanut butter
healthy sandwiches
pastas with lots of veggies
fruit salad
smoothies
cottage cheese and fruit
salads with lean meat and tons of veggies
soups
these are the staples of my diet!
hope that helps some!!:drinker:0 -
If you like soup, the Campbell's Soup at Hands are great and low calorie. I think the highest one has 130 calories which is practically nothing. Fills you up. Pair it with some veggies, crackers, or other low cal foods and you have a very low cal lunch. Plus its cheap!!0

I don't have the time, patience or calorie allotment for some of the yummy recipes posted here. For now I just stick with my frozen dinners and pre-packaged meals/snacks. It's boring, but it's safe.0

I usually build a nice salad into a large tupperware type bowl and add to that sliced cherry tomatoes, maybe some diced chicken breast (about a 1/4 cup) and then in another container I put about two or three Tblsp of Newman's Own Light Balsamic Vinagrette blending the two at the office when it's time for lunch. For a snack I will take either a couple of small apples, a peach or a bunch of grapes. These are simple things that you have in the house on a daily basis and the meat you add could come from dinner the night before.
We usually have marinated pork loin, chicken breast, etc during the week and use this meat in our salads and for left overs later in the week when we get home late from work.
Hope this helps.

If you don't cook or prepare at all, low sugar, high fiber cereals make great meals/snacks! The fiber one bars are great, too!0
