How accurate is the net weight on labels?

I don't have a food scale and my normal scale isn't accurate for something that light. I'm just curious.

It varies, but most are not completely accurate. In most cases, there is a little more in the can/package than the label states. Usually not a huge difference, but I have had tuna weigh in excess of an ounce more than the net weight on the can.0

For dry goods it's fairly close. For breathable containers, it really depends. Humidity and condesnation can add a good 10%, but evaporation can drop a good 10% too.0

Not accurate at all. It can typically go 20% either way.0
