Ok. I've been logging for about 3 wks now(well almost)! I used to eat fast food everyday and began to cut down and eat healthy but soon I got tired of the same things so now I'm trying just not to eat out and not feel like I'm depriving myself meaning still eating some stuff that I want as long as it's not fast food and I stay under calories. But I've been gaining weight instead of losing. So can anyone look at my diary and give me pointers on what I should be eating to lose weight I just really want some help right now.
One thing I have to say though I eat stuff that sometimes is not on here or I just substitute what I ate for stuff already logged on here so I'm not sure if the cals sodium and carbs and all those exact things are the same. Oh and some of the stuff I log is in Spanish sometimes I can't find what I'm looking for or don't know what it is exactly in English so I log it in Spanish lol sorry for those who don't know what some food is.

For meats like carne asada, bistek and cecina, given that they are not marinated in tons of oils and sugars, can be counted like steak and pork chops (in ounces or grams). . because really, it's mostly spice. And I calculate the rest of the ingredients separately. Tomatillos, onion etc. As far as cecina, I log it as ham/ prosciutto (in ounces or grams).0

I still eat fast food. Taco Bell, Arby's and Cookout appear in my diary quite often. I just make better choices and control portions when I go there.0 -

I usually get 2 tacos, or 1 burrito...with chicken. But once in a while I splurge on the half pound beefy potato burrito, cuz....I mean...dayam.0 -
sounds like you need to be more honest and accurate with your logging. Get a food scale, eat more foods at home that prepare yourself. Log the ingredients, not the finished product. Meaning that you log the tortilla and the beans if you cook a bean burrito instead of just typing in "bean burrito." If your having trouble losing weight then your eating more then your burning in terms of calories. So fix that problem and that is all.0

Here's an actual tip: If you're going to eat fast food, look up the nutritional info online before you go. Decide in advance what you're going to eat, and go ahead and log it in your diary before you get there. The only thing that should budge you is if they are literally out of what you selected, and you should have a backup meal in mind just in case. If you're tempted by some crap on a poster, make a mental note to check out it's nutritional info and maybe have it next time. If you think you just have to have something else, wait until you've eaten your logged meal, and then wait 20 minutes after you ate the last crumb...if you're still hungry after that, then you can get something else. Spend that 20 minutes thinking of healthier but still satisfying alternatives. For example, if you're eyeballing a milkshake or some other dessert, is there a froyo place nearby? Is there someone with you that will split something with you? Is there another item that will be healthier but still satisfying?
Also, I just wanna mention, Taco Bell Cinnabon bites all the freaking way!!!0 -
I was fortunate to read this thread in the first few days I was on the site.

I agree with the other posts, your logging seems too general. When I cook something at home I measure everything that goes in there, 1 tbs of olive oil is a lot of calories for example, it all counts. So instead of "homemade" this or that try to actually add by ingredients and measure everything. If someone else is cooking for you things get complicated. I eat at my mother's a lot so I have to guesstimate with her food but I at least try to add by ingredients. For example, instead of "homemade potato salad" I add potatoes, olive oil, mayo... etc, and since I know she uses tons of mayo I estimate on the higher side....
Latin food cooked by those who are not on a diet can be very high in fat, try to cook for yourself.0 -

@OP, if you're buying stuff that's packaged in stores like snacks, use the handy scanner in the app.0 -
