I am in need of cold weather exercise clothes for my nighttime walks/speed walks! Therefore I am interested in recommendations, as well as seeing what other people wear for cold weather exercise! (yay inspiration =])
Things to keep in mind for recommendations:
-I am a plus size lady.
-I tend to sweat quite a bit, so obviously I'm in need of things that can handle the sweat, and frequent laundry cycles.
I was sort of hoping I could find arm warmers, scarves, gloves, leg warmers, tall (wide calf friendly) socks, and hats that are exercise and sweat friendly and good for keeping warm.
I also would be interested in learning about any clothing that can keep me warm in thin layers. I don't mind layering, but I also don't like feeling weighed down and immobilized by bulky layers of clothing. I am definitly in need of pants that can keep me warm. Haha
Thank you, kindly!

You will definitely want to dress in layers. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer, then a warm fleece layer, then a windproof shell on top. Each layer is petty lightweight on its own, so it shouldn't feel bulky or constricting. I don't have specific product recommendations, and can't say if one brand is any better than another, but I have everything from Old Navy and Danskin (for Walmart) to Under Armour and Athleta and don't see vast differences in quality to match the vast differences in price.
Or you can move to Florida like I did.0 -
I have been wearing dry fit Nike or Under Armour gear in the summer and their "heatgear" line in the winter months. It is light weight, durable, and it wickers away the sweat, and is very comfortable... Been using it for years now and love it... I am sure other brands like Russell, Columbia, extra have their own line but I have only used the 2 mentioned.... Best of Luck0

I personally haven't walked/jogged outside in too cold of weather, but I found a couple of websites that might be helpful:

Another vote for Under Armour, I have some of their cold gear and it is very good. I am also big so I put on some light weight shorts over the running tights and if it is cold enough a light weight sweet shirt on top. Hat and gloves make are a big help too. Also one of those neck wraps. With this I am good down to about 38 degrees, still cold but not uncomfortable. Check with your locale running store for some advice. Also it is VERY easy to over dress and get too heated. Look at the weather around the time your think you will finish your run and dress for that temp, you will warm up during your run.0
