Life without Music ?

I couldn't conceive of it. If I'm awake, there is music in the background. I have stereo systems in my man cave, my garage, outside by my BBQ, in my office, on my Motorcycle and I have a portable system I take on Motorcycle runs.
I have been to at least 800 concerts in my life. From AC/DC to ZZ Top. Love Rock and the Blues mostly. Don't listen to a lot of current stuff. Guess that's my age. However, I do find that if I see someone new live, then I start looking for their music.
Going to retire in a couple years. About 10 years ago I started collecting Concert DVDs. Want to be able to lay out by the pool while concerts stream on the big screen.
What are your tastes in music?
What was your first Concert?
What was your last Concert?
What is your next Concert?

I couldn't deal with it very well, music is one my main passions and i get a bit obsessive about it.
my music tastes are very very eclectic and whilst I love Rock and Metal most of all- favourite band is currently Volbeat, I will listen to anything and so long as i can understand the lyrics it generally gets a thumbs up from me.
when i say understand, i don't really care what language it's in, so long as it's not mega screamy, too fast to keep up with or anything like that.
the only music genre i struggle to get on with is Jazz. always have. not sure why.
first concert:5ive- (i was 15)
last concert: Volbeat ( with support from Kitty, daisy and Lewis, Pretty maids, and Paradise lost)
next concert: Volbeat (with support from Hatebreed)0 -

What are your tastes in music? Rock, hard rock, classic rock, alternative. That's the core. I do like some pop and hip hop and rap, but not enough to say that I love the whole genre. I like a bit of country, mostly old school country like Willie and Hank, but I would say that is the genre I like least.
What was your first Concert? I went to concerts with my parents: Whitney Houston, Gloria Estefan and the 4 Tops. Chronologically, I can't place them. They really weren't my choices.
What was your last Concert? O.A.R. in Pittsburgh. I try to get to 2-3 shows a summer.
What is your next Concert? I am hoping to go to Pearl Jam in Columbus, but I am not sure I'll be able to carve out the time for that trip.
I play music & sing, too. So I am always seeing local people play which is pretty cool.
I will add this question:
What is your favorite concert? I have been to plenty of shows, but the one that sticks out the most was Tom Petty about 7-8 years ago in Pittsburgh. It was a great show.0 -
my favourite shows: the Volbeat one i saw a couple of months ago in Denmark, we got a super-long set and the atmosphere was incredible.
other favourite shows include: KISS, Rammstein, Patrick Wolf and Frank Turner. the first two have such theatre in their sets, Patrick wolf is such an incredible, multi-instrument playing, talented musician, and Frank Turner, his show moved the crowd to tears-so honest and simple yet awesome.0 -

I can't live without music! It really fuels me and my bike rides are so much better with something piping through my earbuds.
Great topic OP!0 -
What are your tastes in music? I have a pretty open mind; I'll listen to almost anything. My iPod has everything from British Invasion to Disney Music, Classical to New Age, Celtic to Show Tunes, Country to '50s Crooners. I lean towards older rock; today's pop doesn't appeal to me in the least.
What was your first Concert? Went to one of **** Clark's package tours. Paul Revere & the Raiders, Bryan Hyland...can't remember the rest.
What was your last Concert? ****ey Betts at Penn's Peak. Great show!
What is your next Concert? Nothing planned at this time.
What is your favorite concert? Lived in Denver in '66. Won a radio contest to see the Beatles in St. Louis. 'Nuff said.0 -

What was your first Concert? Ted Nugent, Golden Earring, and .38 Special. Philly at the spectrum 1977
What was your last Concert? Kansas and Styx at Camden, N.J. mid 2000's
What is your next Concert? None lined up lately, but I want to finally see Rush.
Favorite concert; So many it's hard to choose. I have to go with Page & Plant unledded. I saw both Philly shows, the first and last stop on that tour. After that, Ted Nugent, AC~DC with Bon Scott and the Scorpians.
Never got to see AC/DC with Bon Scott. That would have been a great concert.0
