Struggling to adjust to new body

Guys you are amazing and so supportive!!! I am glad I found someone who can relate!!! No one in my family or friends get me. Anyway I love the comment about "fashion police". I need another smart comment if someone tells me that I look " not healthy"... I cannot confront people at work and I cannot pull joked from my sleeve. But I can in the bar :-) I probably will see a therapist. I just see how it goes for a bit and then start working in it seriously. Amazing transformation and congratulations to everyone and everyone who WILL lose that weight!!!0

I can't even imagine what it's gonna take to stop seeing myself as being so big, once I'm so small. I've gone down from a 4XL shirt to a XL shirt now, and every time I go to put on an XL shirt, I think something's wrong, and I stretch it out. My new shirts are all destroyed from me stretching them out, and they look too big on me every time I put them on. It's ridiculous. I've only lost 45 pounds. I have over 100 more to go. What am I going to be doing 100 pounds from now, when my pants and my shirts and, heck, maybe even my socks just look like they'll be too small for me? I know I will be like the person above who said they shock themselves when looking in the mirror because that's not their face. That's NOT my shirt! (Glad I was able to let that out. Thanks.)0

I am about a 1/3 of the way to my goal. I am so glad I am not the only one!! It takes me a moment to realize that it's me looking back in the mornings. I am excited, yet anxious about hitting my goal weight, because I look so different now. I am not bumping in to things as much. I am getting a lot of attention now, where l was invisible before. I am not used to it, it's unnerving.0

I bought smaller clothes. That helped a good deal.
This for sure, without a doubt. If you've already done that, give it time.
Also, take some pictures. If you have "before" pictures, compare them to new pictures. It works well for me.
Congrats on your weight loss0 -
It's so ridiculous that some peoples' "friends" and coworkers are treating them in a thoughtless way over their weightloss when we have all worked sooo hard to get to where we are now!!
I have experienced some negativity, mainly from my teenage daughters but I think it stems from their dislike of change? They say things like they like me "cuddly/chubby".. and I'm not "fun" any more as I'm not eating takeaways and pigging out on icecream and cake with them like we used to do! I think they do understand that I'm happier this way and it's important for me not to be middle-aged AND overweight
And yes it has taken a while for me to adjust, I lost it slowly but I'm not used to my face.. I haven't got a moon face any more and I look in the mirror and see my younger (thinner) sister, weird!! I'm 5 foot nothing and my jeans look like a child's.. don't think I'll ever get used to that
We're all amazing, our bodies are incredible.. I am thankful every day for where I'm at!!!0 -
People do treat me differently. I am a faculty in a medical college. I am not used that men are staring at me and women telling me daily to 1. Stop losing weight ( at least on e a day but I stopped 4 weeks ago) 2. Men are staring at me when I was invisible just four five months ago 3. Women tell me to stop wear black 4. Two women told me that I look sick ( but I am gorgeous and glowing) 5 one woman went through my lunch bag... My bosses are very nice. But I feel like a sex bomb instead of a scientist.... I do not know what to do with that. Sorry to say that all, as I should be proud and happy. But I feel shy and insecure. I am not going to start binge eating because of that, but I am not very happy with all this crazy attention. I want to hide in my office.
ummmm.....can you say harrassment?? How dare they look through your lunch bag. The women are obviously jealous.0 -

It depends on WHY and HOW the person is telling you that you look unhealthy. If the person is coming from a place of kindness and concern (for example - someone close to you who says something to you privately) then let them know that you respect them telling you that and you'll ensure that you're healthy (and actually DO that!)
But if it's someone just being an *kitten*, I'd say something like, "WOW... aren't you just sweet and charming?" with a eyeroll and smile. They should get the hint that it's rude to say.
ETA: I agree with the harassment comment. No one should behave so cruelly at work.0
